It's SO great! Northcentral Maltese Rescue (NMR) is helping with transport of a missing dog. The dog was stolen in Florida and turned up in Chicago. The story made the front page of the Milwaukee (WI) Journal Times and there's even a video!

Be sure and look at the video and see the "fur coat" that was cut off of him... unreal!!!

Mary Palmer says that the matted fur coats are quite painful because the hair is pulled so tightly...

OMGoodness! Mary Palmer has been called and interviewed by CBS, The Chicago Tribune, she's done phone interviews, she has to go meet a camera crew this afternoon, someone is coming to film her as she puts Max on the plane for home (Florida) tomorrow. . .

I'm so happy, I burst out crying!!

I was watching the video without sound and when she pulled that huge matt out of the bag - well, let's just say for a second, I wasn't sure what I was looking at

Several months ago a Maltese named Max was stolen or got away some how from a yard in Brandon Florida. The Maltese was owned by Richard Gonzalez of West Palm Beach Fl, he let his daughter take the Maltese to her home in Brandon so Max could play with her dogs. Well a couple of weeks ago Mr Gonzalez got a call from a shelter in Chicago and they told him they had Max.

Well Mr Gonzalez had just started a new job and also lacked the money to go to Chicago and get Max, so he got in touch with North Central Maltese Rescue, and our Mary Palmer agreed to help him. She had a person pick up the dog in Chicago and take Max to IL where she took him to Racine WI.

When she got Max to her home she did her magic and cleaned and groomed him, and has it set up, so the dog will fly to Florida on Saturday, be picked up at the airport and then returned to Mr Gonzalez on Sunday.

Well the news services have picked up on the story, and Mary's phone is ringing off the wall, the story has legs as they say. If you Google "Maltese Max Goes Home To Florida" you will get an idea of the impact that this story has, this is so good for rescue, and our Maltese Dogs.

Oh my Gosh... this is amazing! It's like this has happened for a reason..... little Max was 'used' to bring attention to NCMR.

For a second there though...when Mary reached into the bag...... I thought someone had 'stolen' Faux!!!!!!! (though Faux was much 'fluffier'!! ) Of course I figured Steve must have had something to do with it .

Nope, we haven't lost our "touch".

This isn't dead at all. I just found it because it just tonight showed up on my local ABC station news. I hadn't seen it here and the story on my news was very short, but when I saw the dog I knew he was a Malt and started looking here. I'm so glad Mary was able to help Max and his owner. What a wonderful story. It's one of those that you really wish the dog could tell us what he's been through!

Max is home with his daddy. Too bad this segment didn't mention NMR.

But look how happy they are.
