As you all know, I went to my nephews wedding in Australia, and they are on a big honeymoon and just landed in Vegas from Nov 1-6th ..

They got a lovely fountain view room at the Bellagio which he had planned months ahead.

I thought my husband and I would go and surprise them for a day and take them around (we have property there) and show them just more than the strip itself, Red Rock etc.

I got a great rate at the Venetian for tomorrow night ($129 with tax) we are going to drive ..

BUT !!!!!!!!

I need a clever way to find them and just show up wherever they are (except their room of course) ...we will get there around maybe 4pm tomorrow and leave the following night ..

He has access to text messages on his phone ..

Any suggestions as to how I can pinpoint their exact location at the exact time without sounding suspiscious. ??

They will be staying with us for a week, so I am doing the room up in their wedding theme - black and white damask with red .. I will take photos after my daughter hands over her room with the bathroom downstairs.

Suggest away - you have 19 hours to come up with something !!!!!

Maybe a favorite restaurant or show...I don't know.

I would suggest working something out with the concierge at the hotel. Maybe buy them tickets to a show, right next to seats that you will have, and have the concierge give them the tickets as a special "wedding gift from the hotel". Try to make sure it's something they will actually want to attend, of course. I am sure you will find something that would appeal to them.

That's a great idea - I am working on getting tickets to the Beatles "Love" show for tomorrow night but my "hookup" has not called me yet !!

MANY years ago, my boyfriend at the time was travelling around the US with his best mate, they went all over, and had a stop-over in Hawaii on their way home.

My best friend happened to be dating my b/f's best mate, so we decided to 'surprise' them in Hawaii!

We checked into the hotel across the road from them, and called them from our room, they didn't know we were just across the street! - We acted dumb, and asked them the name of their hotel (we already knew it of course) and then explained that we had arranged a surprise for them, but that we 'sent' it to the wrong hotel! (how many 'Outrigger' hotels are there in Hawaii - easy mistake! LOL) Anyways, we told them to go to the bar in the hotel across the street (our hotel) and when they turned up, there we were - SURPRISE! We all had a ball!

Can you maybe think of something to do with your property there, and text your nephew explaining that you need them to go out there to check on something? Maybe you could tell them that you have arranged for a limo to collect them at a certain time - and then you & hubby can already be in the back of the limo?? I know, I'm acting like you don't have a budget by suggesting the limo! LOL

Oh - here's another (expensive) idea ...... when I was in Vegas, we took a day-trip flight out to the Grand Canyon - we landed & then took a tour around in a bus stopping here & there .... could you maybe somehow get them out there & then you & hubby already be there & just 'bump' into them? - I know, a bit of a stretch .....

I like the idea of arranging something through concierge, great idea! Much more practical (and probably less expensive!) than mine! LOL

Ok I just spoke to them, they had just gotten into their room.

They said they cancelled their tickets to the "O" show because they were tired (they are on NY time) ..

He asked me to see if my "contact" can get tickets to "O" or Wayne Brady for tomorrow night.

I said, are u sure you don't want to see "Love" .. he says he doesn't like the Beatles that much (too young) - but I told him it was Cirque Du Soliel and very modern, I said too bad, I already bought them for you and they will be at the Box Office at 9:30pm .. he goes you didn't have to do that - ok then I'll pay you back etc etc ..
