I'd love to find out about that shelter myself!! Hubby is so in love with the girls it just melts my heart and he is actually the one who was finally able to teach Annie to sit. BUT, oh boy, sometimes I could clobber him! Like when Annie starts barking and then goes into her wolf howl which sounds like it's coming from a hundred pound wild wolf not from a 5 pound malt, he starts laughing and telling her, "you tell em, Annie! Go get em!" All the while I'm trying to teach her not to bark at every little noise she hears outside.
But, the one that is just about to drive me over the edge is his reaction to their begging while he eats dinner. I have never fed them while I eat and our son has never fed them while he eats. But, hubby will feed them from his plate every once in a while even though I've asked him not to. It's not the food he gives that drives me crazy because it's only freshly steamed plain veggies or lettuce without dressing. But after a few minutes of his giving into their begging he starts hollering for me to call MY dogs off of HIM! (He eats at the coffee table and I eat at the dining table - men!.)
Well, if HE wouldn't feed them from HIS plate HE wouldn't have this problem. They don't beg from anybody but HIM! I usually just ignore him hoping he'll take the hint, but the cycle just goes on and on.
OMG!! Sophie, my husband did the same thing with my sweet baby Kara. For years....baby Kara NEVER had people food, and then one "bright" moment he had....he said....ohhhhh how would you like to eat the same thing ever day, and gave her something from his plate...Up till that point, when I ate, little Kara, would just lay on my lap, and very content. From the time he thought...oh let her have a little.....whenever he would eat, he could not eat in peace, so I would make him his dinner and hold Kara till he was done. He didn't start this until she was about 6 years old...but it drove me crazzzzzzy.
And my Mother-in-law, would say....who I do love...but she would say..."oh a little won't hurt her".....grrrrrr.
So when it got time to feed my sweet Kara, who I do the feeding, of course, I had to hand feed her...because I just wanted to make sure she got the nutrients she needed.
So guess what...with little Mia...absolutely NOT....we have her a blue food and blue treats..which she loves....and he now agrees, it is what is best for her.
Oh it's so much easier training a fur baby then a husband!!!!
