I found this bag on craigslist for 25 bucks, WOO!
It is awfully ugly though... so I have a couple questions.

First - it's a large, 11 inches tall 11 inches wide and 18 or 19 inches long. the woman who is selling it flew on a small plane simular to the one I'll be flying on and even the same airline (AA's smaller line American Eagle) and she said she had no problems at all with the bag fitting under the seat. which the height isnt a big deal because the height is 13 inches under the seat, i'm just worried about the length now.

Second - it's UGLY. lol i know that's not a good reason to not like it but oh my it is horrid looking. you all are so crafty and make such beautiful things, do you have any tips on if I do buy it how to make it a little less sore on the eyes???

here is a photo of the bag..

maybe just add a couple of colorful fabric bows to the handle(s)?
you could change the bow(s) depending on the season/holiday/time of year/gender of dog inside the bag...
remember that anything you do to spruce it up may draw unwanted attention to your pup.

You might want to check with Petsmart they had Sherpa's which that looks like one or a replica for $39 I got it in red which is much nicer that's the one used when I brought Cody home in a size small.

Uhm, I have three dog carriers airline approved but in the end this is the one I use because even if it's not that nice it's very comfortable for Lizzie.

I don't think our Sherpas are the prettiest carriers, but for air travel and what not they are GREAT.
lindsay
Oh I like the newer sherpa bags, I think they are nice and they look comfy.. I guess I mean that that bag is ugly compared to the other ones - I'm going to see what bag this other woman has...

What is the replica bag? Anytime I go to petsmart I just see a couple Sherpa bags that are 70-80 bucks. =/

What I meant by replica that it might be a knock off of a Sherpa. I got mine for less than $45 including tax at Petsmart maybe they were on sale when I got it. I have a few also and for air travel it's the best one. This is the one I got but in a small.

The sherpa won't win a beauty contest, but I also think if it's airline approved it's proably with a confy liner the most comfortable for our fluffbutts. We are traveling to FL at the end of December and I will proabably travel with the sherpa, but bring my nice carriers to bring him around in.

There's is also another carrier that's shaped in a box, but more fashionable.."fly something". Are they airline approved?
lindsay
Oh no no no, I know Sherpa bags aren't the easiest thing on the eye... but I like the newer ones better, I think they look a lot better than the one that I posted in the first post. I guess that's what I should've said, I definietly dont want any fancy type of bag, it's just that that bag doesn't look like the newer ones. Still haven't seen a picture of the sherpa bag this woman e-mailed me about...
This was the carrier she had listed on craigslist..

it's the same one was above, right???
I'm an idiot if it is because I have seen the ones with brown lining before.
