I'm not sure if I'm being paranoid or not but can I please ask for prayers for little Katie???

As you know she will be here soon.

She leaves the breeders place at around11.30am 20th November (the 19th in America).

It is about an hour's drive to the airport. Katie has to be at the airport 90 minutes PRIOR to the flight leaving.

The flight leaves at 2pm and is a direct flight. It takes about 2 hours to get to Hobart airport.

She arrives at 4pm and we can collect her at 4.30pm.

It will then take about 1/2 hour to get to the vet. (I'm stopping at the vet's to get her checked out etc) so that's another 1/2 hour there.

Then it's another good 1/2 hour home from there.

So all up this poor little baby will be on the 'go' for at least 6-1/2hours!!

I've been in touch with the people who are 'shipping' her and they said they would make sure she has water and some cuddles.

Here in Australia animals are NOT ALLOWED to travel in the cabin. They have to go in the hold. It is air conditioned and pressurized but it is dark and very noisy!!

I'm taking some water and some nutrical with me and also some baby wipes (in case she has peed herself and needs a bit of a clean up)

I'm scared $$$$ to say the least.

I hate flying myself let alone being a little thing and in the dark.

I did ring the breeder a few times and asked 'dumb' questions but she seems to think 'things will be good'. (I have asked for more pictures but to no avail)

So could you please remember little Katie on the 19th and pray that the journey will be ok??

Dede.. I am sooooo excited for you!! but I fully understand your anxiety and think most of us would be a bit anxious having to fly our babies anywhere. I never had to deal with till we got little Quincy. He was put on plane in NC but had to be checked in 1 hour prior. The only flight that 'worked' meant a 2 + hour layover and connection in Detroit .. then a flight to here in NY. We picked him up at 3-forty something that afternoon . I was in a twit all day!!! I kept running to the computer and checking the departures and landings!
The little guy of course was a bit confused because I KNOW he was expecting to see his mommy and not these two strangers but he was in amazing good shape!! It truly was more traumatic on me than on him for sure!

However having told you all that be assured that little Katie will be getting lots of prayers for a little extra 'security' for her good flight to you! Get that camers ready.. put it by the door right now so you don't forget it LOL . you KNOW we are going to be nagging you for photos so be prepared!

I always worry about my furbutts, but, as many have said, it's much harder on us humans than on the furbutts.

I know that your worrying, but Katie will be ok. I had Matilda flown to me I was so stressed and so worried, but when I received her I couldn't wait to get her carrier opened, she was fine, her water has spilled but first thing she did was give me kisses. I can't wait till your holding Precious Katie I'll be praying

All the more reason to save up all those hugs for her!! Baby Katie will be scared but she will be fine once she gets to "under down under". Murph had to travel a similar path, although his flight was only an hour. He was a little scared when I collected him, but other than that he was GREAT. As soon as I got him out of the crate he snuggled up on my shoulders and slept.

None of my dogs were born in Melbourne , so I like every good breeder in Oz have used Dogtainer to ship them . Dogtainer is the ONLY company in Australia with a good reputation . When I go on holiday , I take my dogs with me again with my chosen shipping company . Given I have used them so often , I am a bit of an expert . Most Australian dog boards have the exact information as me , it is not only my personal opinion . Sarah
