Its been a long winter! No snow for the girls to play in = we are all bored to death.
So today, I thought I would give them a little groom.
Ling Ling, as you can see, I shaved . She hates to be groomed, so I figured “I will pick my battles, and get rid of all her hair”.
Lacie is going on 11 and is still so young at ❤. Shes my soul baby. I weaned her off all meds doing the pandemic and she is thriving all over again.
Suki, is perfect in every way ❤ absolutely perfecto!
And I added Charlie, our friendly owl that has been coming every night for a month now 🦉

Thank you everyone!
Its been awhile since I posted a picture of my three.
They are always so naughty, in a good way.

Sandi…I take them out single handed now because of that owl, and the coyotes. I dont trust wild animals. That owl is so beautiful to look at, yet scares me to death the way he looks at Suki and Ling Ling, as if to say” yummy meal”.

I go out with my little ones, too. I also have just a smaller area right next to the covered porch that I have fenced in with exercise pens, and I take them out there at night if the weather permits. Otherwise, it's puppy pads!

The larger dogs I usually go out with but don't follow that closely. I don't think my area has birds big enough to carry off 13 pound dogs.
My yard is fenced in, too. I installed a 6 ft privacy on the sides, and 5 ft picket along the back, so I had the view of the woods. A coyote could easily clear that.
When I lived in California, we had roll bars at the top of the fence, so coyotes couldn’t make it all the way over. Around here, the fence companies look at me like Im crazy when I inquire about the roll bars 🤷🏻‍♀️
This owl is a barred owl. They hunt for bunnies and rodents. I think Suki is lighter in weight than most bunnies around here. I wish I could get some good pictures. I shake uncontrollably while taking them because Im so afraid he will attack me. His nest isnt to far away from where he sits every night, which is 4 feet from my fence.

Hi Joanne! Your girls are so beautiful! So sweet! I am so happy to hear that Lacie is doing well. She is a special miracle doggie for sure!
That owl is scary! We have hawks here, and coyotes, but I haven't seen an owl yet. I wonder if a scarecrow would work?
So stressful - Always something to worry about!
I hope you are doing well!
Hi Kathleen!

i reread you first post. Funny we are up to 18 inches of snow and counting, though the Eastern part of the state has a lot less.
We got a total of 12 inches here…very heavy to shovel. I think I pulled a muscle in my neck, ouch!

Walter, you can have it! Here in the Chicago area we've had very little snow which is fine with me. It's been cold but only a few days with enough snow or cold enough to keep me from my six miles outdoors in the morning. And the girls have been loving being able to get their walks (NOT 6 miles) every day this year too! Enjoy the snow!
Im with you Maggie, not a fan of snow!
