That's part of why I'm not a big FB fan and I really limit friends and activity on it and have all my security high. It's ripe for scammers. Kat what's BBM?
BBM is blackberry messenger I believe. You can have running conversations (via text messages) with people and you can also see if they read what you wrote. My daughter has a blackberry and she likes using BBM too... however you can only BBM friends that also have a blackberry.

Hi Jane
Found this when googling getting off FB:
You can deactivate your account:

On the Facebook homepage, click on Account at the top-right corner of the page. Then, click the Deactivate link.

This doesn't actually delete or cancel your account. The account will be reactivated if you ever log back into it.

In order to completely remove your account, you will have to contact Facebook. Send them an e-mail at [email protected] and ask for your account to be completely removed.

and just wanted to also add that it allows: status updates, photo/video/voice note sharing, creating/joining groups, share calender events and invitations, display picture (profile pic), broad cast messages (In my older/first FB account, I only needed it for the previous mentioned things you can do with everyone you know. When BBM trend came to EVERYONE I know, I switched to it (deactivate/closed my FB account) and was happily ever after:HistericalSmiley: <-- the older versions of BBM don't have all these. Newer versions come out very quick and updating to them takes few seconds. We sure LOVE it better there. You never get any issue similar to what goes around in FB with hackers and creepy people. The only thing is that there are talks of closing BB services here. I doubt if they will actually do it, but nothing is confirmed yet. However, I do have an alternative to BBM if that was gonna happen  Everyone in my contact list are also ready for plan B :D

I created a new FB account not to long ago, but lets say, it is an account that I share it with my malts  or maybe it is more of my malts' account:HistericalSmiley: nothing too personal in there other than mostly malts-related stuff :wub:I also love to keep in touch with my dear online pals.

I don't have any valuable personal stuff on my Facebook. My cousin has her kids' names, birthdays, their birthdays, where they went to school, everything you could think of on it. Not me,noooo way, after what heppened last week, maybe even less from now on.
I don't think they hacked to the point they'd change info to hurt me,but I think it was only for spamming.
I don't have anything about where I live, too afraid of crazies, even though it's not an open Facebook like some people.I only share w/ those I know.
