Alex health check

Alex had his yearly check up today. I will get the results of his blood work in the next couple of days. So far he is fine (my bank account 217 $ lighter). He needs a dental tho. Vet says that when they get older tartar builds up quicker especially on the back teeth. Depending on the blood work I might have him have another dental sometime this week. That will save me some money on the long run. If I wait a little longer I will have to have another blood work done. On another note, Vet said Alex will not be vaccinated anymore and if we can, we will even try not to have to do the rabies shot next year. Since he had a bout of thrombocetopenia we could have a good excuse to give to the city.

Good to hear the good news on Alex.. will be praying the blood work fine too!
Glad to see the vet is going to cut out the vaccines!
When we had decided Missy was not going to get even the rabies( we had already stopped the other annuals) I did have a titer done as a back up for "just in case" and besides I wanted to know where she stood after 10 years of having them. found she was extremely well protected!!!!!!!!!!!!
Missy's teeth were bad in the back too.. I did try to clean the front and eventually was able to, but the back was a futile attempt.
Let us know the good news we expect on the blood work.

Alex's blood work came back and everything looks great, even his platelets are perfect. So we go ahead and he has his dental tomorrow. He has to be there at 9 am but I will stay with him until they will get him to start the procedure.
I'm glad his checkup and blood work were A-OK.... I hope the dental goes just as well.

Alex is back home since 3 pm. He is spunkier then I thought he would be. We were not supposed to give him food this evening, but it's quarter to 7 and he asked for food. The poor thing had nothing to eat since yesterday lunch. He did not touch his food yesterday night. We gave him a little bit of chicken and rice. I hope he will not throw up later on. The vet prices go up like the gasoline. Two years ago the price for cleaning was 182.80, this time I paid 220.73. Here is a picture from the Before and After.
