Hi all.

Is anyone reading Food, Women, and God by Geneen Roth?
I'm almost done with the book and I'm finding it really thought
provoking reading. Obviously, it has to do with food and women's
obsession with dieting, but I'm finding that it really touches on
many other issues. The author was on Oprah a while ago.
I missed the show, but it's being rebroadcast tomorrow if anyone
is interested.

There are a few pages in this book that are so well written and
really address things that I have been feeling. I'm reading
these pages over and over again. I was just wondering if anyone
else here read the book and what your experience was.

Hmm. I haven't even heard of it Debbie but sounds interesting. Maybe we should add it to the summer reading thread? Can you post this there too?
I like keeping all the book recommendations in one place and then I can go back to that thread and find the next book to read.

I thumbed through it at the bookstore, but it wasn't my kind of book. Let us know how you like it when you are done. I've read so many books about dieting, food, emotional eating, etc. over the years.

I listened to the audiobook. There were a couple good points but nothing I didn't already know. Honestly, it seems like she has stumbled on a great "gimmick" for a book and keeps reguritating the same theme over and over in her books.

However, with that said, I do think if somone has a problem with binge eating that this could offer some insights that might be helpful.
