Hey everyone,
My Sassy has a nice silky coat, but it is somewhat soft and the adult hair is coming in, so she is having some matting. Sadie has a thinner coat and doesn't mat as badly. I groom both of them every single night so I keep after the mats (my groomer LOVES me!). Last week the owner of the shop, also a maltese breeder, showed me a product called Pro-Groom Canine Coat Conditioner by Lambert Kay. It is an aerosol product and costs $25 for a large can. She swears by it and said that the mats almost dissolve. Tonight Sassy had a fairly large mat in her neck (where Sadie grabs her when playing) and I sprayed on this product and WOW! The mat did kind of dissolve. I guess that I just want to make sure that this isn't some wacky product that I shouldn't be using. It contains no laqueur. You spray it on the entire coat before grooming. If there is a mat you spray that until it is moist and then comb. It also has a nice smell. Anyone have any knowledge of the product. I've only used it once so I'm certainly not recommending it yet - just trying to get info. I sure was impressed initially.
