Ugh! I'm sitting here listening to the rain. We are watching the water behind our house and hoping we won't have to evacuate tonight. We got the jet ski out of the water and moved two of our cars. Meanwhile, I'm trying to get my youngest daughter packed for 5 weeks in London. We have to drive to New Orleans tomorrow for her Thursday AM flight. Our lovely evening at the Ritz Carlton with dinner at Emeril's is looking pretty soggy.....if we even make it over there. And then there is another tropical storm right behind.

I won't be online till next week. We're going to buy a doggy cake at a bakery in New Orleans so that we can celebrate Sadie and Sassy's first birthday this weekend. We'll be tiling the bathroom floor of the condo in Jackson. The rest of the family could be coming up if the hurricane forces them out of South Mississippi. Y'all have a good week and weekend and I'll try and catch up next week.

One of my neighbors started banging on doors at 5:45AM to let us know that the water was rising fast. We got our cars moved to higher ground, but the water is about a foot deep under the house. Hope the water will recede pretty quick cause we still have to figure out how to get Megan to the airport in New Orleans.

Yuck! So sorry for you! Hope you all stay safe!

We are pretty bummed too b/c the rain lines from both storms are heading STRAIGHT toward east Tennessee!!! Right in the middle of our vacation!

Not a happy camper considering we have had very LITTLE rain, and now it looks like it is going to rain through our entire vacation! :smilie_tischkante

Take care and stay safe
and I do hope the weather improves for you all down there. I certainly hope it never gets like it did last year, that was terrible. We also could do with some rain here as the corn farmers are very worried.

Yeah, my farmer friends would probably KICK me for being worried about my vacation and the rain.
The corn here needs it REALLY badly!

I hope the storms pass quickly. I feel for you. We've only had to evacuate once since we've been here and while it was no fun, it is so much better to be safe than sorry. Of course my idea of evacuation was to spend the night at the Sheraton instead of the local high school gym!

I with ya on that! I'm staying at the Ritz in New Orleans so you can see that I like the comforts. We have the condo in Jackson to use for evacuations. In the past I've made hotel reservations ahead of time, but that gets hard with three dogs! Thank goodness for the condo.

I'm fine, we live on the east coast. But I feel so bad for the people in Pensacola. Alot of people there are still living in fema trailers, there is still debris around from Ivan, still alot of blue tarp roofs. Alot of homes are still not fixed. Its horrible that they are probably going to get hit again, along with Mobile, Al.
