Got this note from Jan Rasmussen of Scared Poopless fame.

Attention California Dog Lovers (and cat lovers, too)

URGENT: a bill is in the California Assembly Agriculture Committee recommending exemptions from rabies vaccination for health reasons. We must get this important bill passed! Please post, cross post and forward this email to friends and the secretary of your California dog group.

BILL NUMBER: AB 2000 California Assembly Member Curt Hagman has filed a bill which will insert a Medical Exemption Clause into California's Rabies Law. This bill would exempt from the vaccination requirement the owner of a dog that a licensed veterinarian determines, on an annual basis, may have a potentially lethal reaction to the vaccination. Read the bill here: AB 2000 Assembly Bill - INTRODUCED

Please send an email or letter or call the following assembly members RECOMMENDING PASSAGE OF AB 2000. Feline owners should request that cats be included as well.

I saw this on FB. My state already has this law in place thank God. This is the second year Snoops gets a exception because of his past cancer.

I live in California and my vet wrote a note to exempt my dog from the rabies vaccine several years ago. It worked.
