I'm thinking about buying this. Dixie rides on my lap. I think she might go for this so she can see out, and it's safer. Has anyone tried it? What do you think?

I have looked at it and thought about getting it till I noticed that it is for dogs up to 4 pounds
. Lacie weighs between 5.5 and 6 pounds so I think it may be too small for her. She rides in her Vari-Kennel without a problem
so I guess I'll have to stick with it for now. But if it was big enough I would get one.

If I decide to buy it I'll let you know if it might accomodate a larger dog. Dixie is about 4 lbs. now. I don't think she will get any larger. as a matter of fact I think she might be a tad bit chunky at this weight

I think the same site has one pictured. i love it but know my little princess won't be happy in the back seat. I need the passenger side free for my skin kid. Dixie currently rides on my lap. refuses any other location. I thought the front console style might appease her and be much much safer.
I have the larger one also and my malteses love it . My skinkids ride in the backseat and aren't protesting yet. One time I didn't feel like putting the seat in the back while my husband was driving, so I just got in the back. Sugar kept looking back at me and could not figure out why I was not driving. She was very upset with the change.

That's funny. When Dixie and I ride in my husbands car she gets very confused. She knows she is "supposed" to be in the drivers seat, but mommy isn't over there. She will eventually settle into my lap on the passengers side.

Summer to would only ride in my lap
I bought the larger one and put it in the back seat behind the pasenger seat.. she cried at first but I would tell her Shh and when she stopped crying I gave her a treat
Now I put her in her cozy little bed and she can see out or just cuddle up for a nice little ride and take a nap
It only took 1 or 2 to get her to ride in it

PS. its a little bulky takes up a whole seat but she seems to love riding in it and she's buckled in thats the best part

I have one of the whole car seats as well... Kodie loves it because its raise high enough for him to see out the window since hes so small.
I have a pic of him in it... i forget my password to my online photo thingy... i'll have to post it when i get home from work.

we have the regular size car seat. i considered getting the console seat (since she likes sitting on the console anyway) but figured it would end up being just a glorified toybox in the house LOL. the regular carseat is fantastic. i highly recommend it. it takes a while for them to get used to (i.e. "oh! i'm supposed to STAY in this!"), but it's really a great investment. it really eases your mind on a drive when your baby isnt on your lap and decides that RIGHT NOW, while you're swerving to avoid something in the road, she wants to turn around and readjust her situated self

ooooh buttercup's grandma is taking us out to dinner! must go!

Hey, that is a nice one. I know I need one eventually. Right now, he hates his carrier, so I let him fall asleep on my lap, not safe, I know. That one is cool on the console, though....it's safe and keeps him close. Not a bad price, either. It will probably take him a few days to get used to it.

I'll post with pictures and comments if I buy it. I'm still not sure I want to get it. I'm afraid she won't end up using it and I would have waited the $$$$. The big one is very nice, but really big. I have a 45 lb dog whom rides in the back and if I put the big seat and my other dog back there I wouldn't be capable of fitting anything else.
Puddles is to big I think for riding on the console and I can't stand the arm licking while driving.

He was trained to ride in the back seat with his seat belt on. An EMS director told me that's the best and safe place for him, due to the front air bag.
Pacino has a car seat and he loves it. He is high enough so that he can see out of the windows. I am a little leery of the console one only for the fact that it doesn't look as secure as the car seat.

I have an SUV and I put the car seat in the middle of the of the second row of seats so that he can see everything. The car seat attaches to the headrest, around the seat itself and there is an added strap from the front of the seat to the headrest also. There is a lot of support there.

I just don't see all that support in the arm rest one....it only attaches to the arm rest itself and a sudden stop might send it flying.....
