poor babies , i hope they feel better soon , what a coincidence both at the same time..
I use a drying agent that I got from my vet that I use every time I bathe them...This is Chloe's first ear infection in 2 years and the first for Summer since I had her.Scooby always got an ear infection after going to the groomer so I stopped taking them and do it myself. Poor fella would have one in his right ear a week after grooming, it would clear with meds then return again next month after his bath.
Since I stopped taking him he has hardly had a problem, but when I bath them I always use Oti-Soother and flush out their ears to make sure the drying agent reached down in the ear to clear any water out that may have got in.
I have meds here all the time for ear infections and as soon as I see him scratching his ear I check it and if it's bad enough I will treat it immediately, but I don't like to medicate too often as this can effect their hearing so I have been told, so I clean their ears weekly with the Oti-Soother and this helps keep their ears healthy and smelling nice too.
Oti-Soother is a vet only product so you could ask about it next time you are there if you want to try it.
No one has ever discussed using a behavioral drug for the itching. She always seems so uncomfortable and I feel so bad for her.Have they discusses trying a behavioral drug for the itching?
