I am so so sorry to hear this devastating news. Sending prayers for better news in 2 weeks. My heart is breaking for you and Cody.
Sending more prayers for Cody. The Eye Specialist saw Cody today and when she walked in the room she looked saddened to see Cody the way he looked. I asked her when I just brought him over a week ago his eye ulcer was not bad right? She said it looked like a tiny superficial corneal ulcer and not that bad… but.. at that visit she shaved the ulcer to stimulate the healing… personally I think that’s what did him in.. if she just gave me the meds maybe it would have healed differently. Who really knows. The doctor said Cody is 16 years old and has a lot going on with the cancer, prolonging blood clotting and she thinks that it’s not healing( she called it a Melting Corneal Ulcer) Cody is not a candidate for removal of the eye. Although maybe if it doesn’t heal in a few weeks she is thinking of doing some grafting to the eye. I also think my primary vet called her before the visit because the Eye Specialist was so up on Cody info. And my vet doesn’t think he has a month to live. But I just can’t see it. Also the eye doctor said he’s on the wrong eye medication because now he has an infection. I told her I have been literally pouring oxfloxcin in that eye and nothing seemed to work. Oxfloxcin is supposed to be a strong drug too. She placed cody on Agressive Eye treatment for 4 days with 4 different Eye Medication drops an hour every hour on the hour . Keep doing it constantly allllll day and every day for four days straight. One especially she took blood from another dog (poor doggie hospital dog they keep I guess for cases like this) and spun the blood and took out certain cells to be used and drop those serum drops in his eye trying to have his own body heal the corneal ulcer. She says that Cody’s immune system is low and that’s why he is possibly not healing like a young dog would. Which would bring me back to taking him off the palladia pill and cancer. So afraid his cancer is going to come full rage. They increased his pain Tramadol meds 3 times a day and changed to a different medication antibiotic Cefpodoxime. Cody is such a sweet Brave Boy he lets me do anything and everything to help him with little fuss. I am so sad this is happening to him in his older years. I follow up with this specialist on Friday then onto my regular vet Friday to follow up on his liver values and clotting issues and maybe ultrasound for the end stage liver disease. It is so hard to even want to think life without Cody. He is my world and so part of me. I never forget the day I brought him home when he was just 12 weeks old , he howled and looked at me from the corner of his eye I never stopped laughing tears came out and he knew I like it and he kept howling then looked at me then howled again. He is my joy my love my heart. I reside in New York , not the city Upper part Rural area Putnam County and this is the only eye specialist that every one goes to for eye problems for dogs. Thankyou you all for being here in my time of heart ache only you can understand how I feel. Not everyone does. It is so nice to be part of you and your constant caring for me and Cody. Please say prayers for him to heal and liver values come down I am trying so hard for him , I will do anything for this baby. Thanks again for now I have to go and give another set of drops. Cody thanks you too!🐾🐾💖
Sending more prayers for Cody and for you too.I called my vet again today, she is not in the office. I was hopeful she would call me today on her day off but I guess she doesn’t have the report in front of her. Although , at times she has contacted me about Cody previously on other issues so my expectation was high but I haven’t received any phone calls. Waiting is so super stressful. Cody is on my lap snoring again. I had to go out earlier this morning and my baby sitter watched him again. She said he did fine but alittle fussy today he wanted down and not to be held. Thankyou for all your Love and Support and through my time with Cody. It really means so much from every one.!🐾💖
Awesome news! Keep up the good work Cody!Omg! Got the call!!! Cody ultrasound confirmed by the doctor no cancer, and taking him off the Palladia pill since there is no new growth for the cancer. She is hoping that taking him off the palladia pill and giving his Liver a rest to recoup she is hoping his liver values will go down. She said he is doing good but in 3 weeks she will have a better idea when the next blood is taken. I asked her about the dandelion supplement but she wasn’t familiar with it and said to just give the extra milk thistle. So my brave Cody is fighting. I Love him sooooooo Much! Please keep saying your prayers! Thankyou for keeping us in your thoughts! 🐾🐾🐾🐾💖
