My Maltese is very active & loves his walks. We go on 1-2 mile walks every day. Problem is in NE the weather has turned cold and humidity is low. Sherpa or other synthetic linings mat his fur because the low humidity and rubbing of liner over his harness. Anyone have suggestions on what spray on product to use to keep static electricity down so his hair mats less?

My Groomer uses this product by Top Performance and it is called GloCoat!! Works fantastic and I was able to purchase a bottle of it through Chewy. Hope that this information helps.

We are in New England too and it’s very hard keeping their coat hydrated during the winter months with the salted roads, heat etc.
I use all Les Pooch shampoo and conditioner and my go-to for leave-in conditioner is the paul Mitchell pet line. I have yet to find something that detangles, hydrates but doesn leave the hair greasy or heavy. I use the oatmeal or wild ginger. Wild ginger is lighter, so if your malt has a finer coat, this would be good.
