Lacie has LPs - Grade 1 which means that she doesn't need surgery at this time. I give her cosaquin and we also exercise her legs under water. She's done well considering that she will be 6 in October and has had Grade 1 since she was about 6-8 months old.
My vet is wonderful about checking them and understands LPs very well and doesn't think that surgery will probably ever be warranted for Lacie. I've got my fingers crossed.
Elaine -- I sure hope that Dixie does as well as Lacie has done. I sometime "pop" her knees out when I groom her and it worries me. Hopefully Dixie will not strain her leg for a while and give it a little time to heal. I know that's very hard to do.
Prayers and positive energy being sent to you and Dixie.
