Elaine I feel your pain. Emma has LP in one leg and I recently found out Benny has it in 2. I think it's from them jumping and acting like crazy dogs. Benny (knock on wood) has never limped and Emma has in the past but it's very rare. I give them glucosamine treats (Hip Action by Zukes) and also add glucosamine supplements to one meal a day. It's tough with these littles ones especially when they are running, jumping, etc. Just keep monitoring her and as others suggested get a 2nd opinion if her limping doesn't stop. Sending prayers.

Elaine, I'm so sorry to hear that Dixie has LP in one leg. Hopefully it is not bad at all and she will do well with maintenance treatment for it. London also has LP in one leg that she's had for approximately 1 1/2 yrs and she is not on any treatment as the vet said it's not inflammed. We limit certain activities for her, such as no running on our hardwood floors, and we try and limit her jumping on and off of things as much as possible.

Dixie, hugs and kisses to you sweet girl, and I hope your leg is feeling better right away!

Elaine, Zippy has an LP also, She has had it for a while. She had surgery on one side, but the vet is watching the other side. If we decide to go further with her rally training, we have to get it fixed. At this point with the other incident, I think we are just going for certified therapy dog, so just going to wait until we have to have the repair.

I am so sorry that poor little Dixie is going through this discomfort. I bet she is a snuggly little girl right now. Mommy's make everything better!

Thank you so much everyone. Dixie is doing better today. She doesn't know she has a problem any more. She does a little skip once in a while walking in the yard for potty time. It's not nearly as bad as it was at first. She hasn't cried out in pain & that makes me very happy.
I remember Zippy was operated on Barbara. I'm sorry she has LP in the other leg as well. I know it is a common problem.
Thank you for the good wishes my friends. I appreciate it.

oh no Elaine not Dixie:unsure: B&B has LP but like Dixie she is doing ok. They vet said she is borderline for surgery, I have noticed if she jumps alot or walks alot then she holds her leg up. I hope Dixie continues to do well and she doesn't have to have surgery
