Does size matter?

Hello
it looks like my little girl will be quite petite and mature at about 4.5 lbs. curious how many in the Community has similar sized Maltese and could share their thoughts on having such a tiny little bundle of love?

My Lexi is the same way. In fact she had to gain weight before they could spay her and she just reached 5 lbs and she is 8-1/2 months. I like her this way, I hope she is done growing. She will always look like a puppy! Her parents are on the smaller size.

Thanks for replying. I think Coco will also have to wait longer than the notmal age to get spayed as well. I wanted a petite Maltese and it appears I got my wish!🐾🐾💕

My little one is 5lbs. She’s adorable small, but I worry about her getting stepped on or sat on. I also worry that a large bird will fly down and snatch her up. Honestly, I wish she were a bit larger for her own safety.
Hello! My Archie is almost 8 months and is 5.4#. He is super cute, but his small size brings concerns ( getting stepped on, falling off furniture, hiding under furniture, slipping through a fence, and he can be so tough to catch when running away). My previous female was 8-9#, so he's a bit of an adjustment!
