i thought they were the same thing.....
The dryness I felt was the area under the toes. I guess its like the "palm" part of their paws. I hope Im making sense....</span>

It should be fairly rough as this is a very durable surface they walk and run on. If they are cracked, you can put Bag Balm on them to help soften them up.
