E-Mail notifications

I don't want email notifications when people reply to a thread I've posted in...or subscribed to. I changed the setting to "no email notification" in the default thread subscription mode in my edit options. But I'm still getting emails. I saved changes. Do I need to Reset Fields?

Did you save the changes ? Ok I just re-read your post, you saved changes. I did not reset the fields. I am at a loss then too.
...I'm being bombarded with a lot of them too. :w00t: It's good in a way, so you can keep up with posts better, but boy do they clog up the email.

Love the Pic of Alex.
I love this pic...gosh, what a gorgeous fluff!

My settings must be different as I am not receiving any email notification, which is fine with me. I'm here often enough, I don't miss a whole lot. lol

Lynne, can you send me a screen shot of your settings? I'm wondering if maybe I need to choose 'Do Not Subscribe' instead of 'No Email Notifications'. At first I thought this a great feature but then realized that after it's sent you 1 or 2 email notifications, it stops. So when relying on only that feature to check on new posts in threads you either started or replied to, you can miss new posts. I have found it's best to use the 'new posts' feature in the tool bar. I'm thinking when perhaps I start a thread, so I'm not rude in not responding if I need to, there is a feature before you hit 'submit' that you can either subscribe or ask for email notifications. I may do that for awhile to see how that work. IF I can figure out how to stop all the other email notifications.
I don't get them on here but I do on FB........it is awful and I have to delete them everyday!!! I don't know how to stop it either~~~~~
Ok I think I've figured it out. Just simply changing the setting to 'no email notifications' in your CP does not change your old posts. So I'm still recieving them for those, but not for my new ones.

Dianne, I was getting so many emails from here, FB, and the NMR group that I was really fearful of missing or not seeing an actual personal or business email. I went to digest on the NMR group which is extremely helpful. And now as the older threads that still have the email notification become less active, it should really be manageable. I'm here on SM daily...in fact I'm embarrassed to admit I just stay logged on all day and open that window from time to time to check in on my friends. Yep...I'm thinking that may be an addiction. Truthfully, I'm not on FB much anymore and find it so difficult to keep up with friends that way. You have to scroll through several pages to see what all your friends have had to say with no organized pattern like you do here with this forum. So I guess I need the email notifications for FB. :(

Cee-Cee's mom---in FB you have to go in and change it under "notifications" ---just take off the check mark & they will stop coming. I did it last night! Good luck & let me know if you need more specific help. sandi
Sorry, Crystal. I'm just now seeing your post about the screen shot. I was still snoozing away at 5:30 this morning! lol Course, I didn't get off the computer until almost 2 this morning. I'm am definitely an addict!

Thank you, Sandi ... those FB emails were driving me crazy and I had no clue how to stop them. I just followed your instructions ... bye, bye FB emails! :aktion033:

Crystal, I'm pretty familiar with this VB software as I use it on the Purse Forum, so I'll try to help. When you check "No email notification" in your CP that just means that that is the default that will be presented to you when you subscribe to a thread. You can of course change it to get notifications once you actually "subscribe" to the thread.

It can't go back to your old requests but what I have done on the Purse Forum is delete the subsription and the re-subscribe with the "no notification" default left as is.
Crystal, when you click on the USER CP in the main navigation bar, the first thing you should see front and center are all the threads you're subscribed to. From there, you can "UNSUBSCRIBE" to these threads and it should solve your question. Unfortunately, when you change your thread subscription settings, it does not apply the changes retroactively.

Gotcha. Thanks!
