After long years (litterally years) or waiting, i finally ot my baby, Gracie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she is just the sweetest thing in the world!! i was wondering how much you think she will weigh when full grown. at 10 weeks she weighs only 1 lb and 7 ounces(or 23 ounces). how much did your maltese weigh at 10 weeks and how much do they weigh full grown?? if you have any idea about her weight please post!!

here are a few new pictures i took of her! i just got her on friday!!

any other info would be great!!

ooooooh and also, she has been throwing up a bit. when i feed her anything less than 10 pieces of food, she has been ok, but anything more than that, even 15 pieces, she throws it up. the food that she is eating currently is science diet, wich is very small pieces (i plan to switch her to welness). i worry that she isnt getting enough protien, for now i plan to feed her every 2 hours or so.

anything you know about that or anything that you think will help, please post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks soooo much! her energy level is great and everything else is great! i love her sooooooooooooo much!!!!!!!!!!!!

She's adorable!

Please take her to the vet if you haven't already, for a full checkup.
she did just go to the vet yesterday, and she is fine, but maybe you might know the cause.
Did you have a fecal done? I would check for Giardia and other parasites.

I agree. Puppies who come from commercial kennels can come with all sorts of parasites.

Watch carefully for signs of hypoglycemia since she is so small. Reputable breeders keep Maltese puppies until they are 12 weeks old or older if they haven't reached two pounds.

Gracie is a cutie!
Congratulations! Gracie is adorable. :aktion033:

No telling how big she'll get without knowing the past generations on both sides.

Personally I've got three maltese - one 3 lbs, one 6 lbs and one 9 1/2 lbs. .....And my 9 1/2 lb. guy was 2 lbs at 12 weeks.

I wish you all the luck in the world with your new baby.
She is just an adorable sweet looking dog! Please post as many pictures as you can. Where did you get her? Linda
i got her from a very nice, responsible breeder. i did some MAJOR background checks before getting her. her parents were 4 and 5 pounds. (mom 5, dad 4).

Did you not see this post on your past thread? Your puppy came from a puppy mill breeder. I would just be aware so you can be on alert for parasites, other contagious infections, etc. that she could have come with.

I hate to tell you, but your puppy is coming from one of the Missouri puppymills. Warren Rebardie is on the USDA "puppymill" list. He owns K-Jen Kennels.

Here is a video of his kennel:

Puppyfind.com is full of puppymills and backyard breeders. They are slick talkers and will try to fool you into thinking they are reputable breeders.
Congrats!!! SHE is perfect! =) Twinkle is currently 4.5 pounds..so she is pretty small. I am not sure how much she weighed when she was younger though.
By the way, I did want to say CONGRATULATIONS on your new addition. We aren't all doom and gloom here. :)

Please try not to be upset. It's done and Gracie is home with you. It won't do any good to beat yourself up over something you can't change.

It's good you know the truth. This way you can make sure she gets a very thorough health check now and be on the alert in the future for any sign of trouble. Be very proactive about her health and hopefully she will live a good long life like my Lady.

Make sure you get a complete blood panel done before she is spayed. Get a bile acids test done, too.

Enjoy Gracie and love her. She's a sweetie.
Don't be upset. We know you had the best intentions. Things happen.

Just enjoy her, take care of her, and all will be well. We're here to help you as much as we can.

Hugs!
thanks guys. i still feel bad, but ill love her forever and be especially careful!

she is a sweet, sweet girl.
the funny thing is that she clearly has been held often. i just wouldnt expect that she would be so sweet and well socialized and she is also healthy and bouncy and happy, so that makes me feel a little better!
She sure is cute! Don't worry now, she is yours and I'm sure you will give her all the love you can! :)
