Welcome to SM. If you check our different topics you will find so much info you'll be reading until she gets here! Lots to know and learn. I hope the breeder is keeping her until 12 weeks.

:Welcome 4: Who is the breeder?

Just make sure you ask your breeder lots of questions, especially about the background of your puppy. You don't want to go through the heartbreak of losing her early.

so, any special tips about maltese that most people dont tell you??? just want to be fully prepared for my baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maltese, like all other breeds of dogs, require training, socialization...etc

From what I hear *from other people who never owned this breed - I came across them in another dog forum* is that they believe that maltese are yappers, barkers, hard to train...etc These specific type of people came across few maltese who weren't well behaved - then that was it, they came to generalize that ALL maltese are like that!! It drives me nuts when people generalize based on few number of maltese they came across with, especially when it comes to the breed that I love! Just a piece of suggestion/tip for you, don't let that VERY CUTE and Angelic face of a maltese push you away from training and teaching her the good/right behavior in a fun, positive and loving way. Socialization is important too. Training is so much fun :D Check this thread out .. there are more informative threads in the training section that you can start reading about ^_^ Have fun. I wish you many happy and healthy years to come with lil Gracie:wub:

Edited: are u getting Gracie from www.Puppyfind.com (URL/link in the top left of Gracie's pic)? Have you met the little girl? I am only asking because someone took Snowy's pictures in his Dogter page, changed his name/gender/age and claimed that Love was a 4 months old girl maltese who was for sale in puppyfind.com (truth is, that was a scammer and the person who took Snowy's picture without permission. A member here who was also a member of Dogster told me about it- the same thing happened to her Massimo (maltese)!!! There are scammers in that website and I am not really sure about reputable breeders there.
