So we were in Maine this weekend at our cabin on a lake. This was Menachem's first time to Maine and we were so excited. We were there with friends who have 2 goldens. When the golden's Mom threw a stick in the lake, the Golden's jumped right in to get it. Certain that my 7lbs pup wouldn't dare jump in (he HATES the bath and won't even go down stairs) we walked up to the edge (no leash) and watched. Wouldn't you know, he jumped right in! I was sure I was going to have to rescue him but the other Mom said - "give him a second and see what he does." Well, he doggy paddled all the way to shore - granted it was about 4 feet but I thought it was incredible.

thats great! My Holli launched herself into a lake at the ripe old age of 14 for the first time. She kept herself up until we did the rescue but at least she could do that much. That should make you feel better knowing he can do it if necessary!
