How has your life been enriched by your fluffs?

1115 Views 20 Replies 17 Participants Last post by  Dora's Mom
The husband and I were talking the other night about how much our lives have changed since getting Bernadette and how we were both surprised at the difference she's made in our home, despite stepping in the occasional puddle of pee...

Bernie has made me more responsible, allowed me to put my life into a healthy perspective more often and been an incredible high blood pressure relief.

How have your fluffs changed your lives for the better?

Nikki has brought a lot of joy, laughter and love into our household. I can't imagine life without her. My husband travels a lot for business, and she's a great companion, especially when he is gone.
We have always had dogs in our family so for us it was not something unusual. But Alex is different, he is the love of my life, sometimes I think I love him more than my husband. Alex is very attached to me, but still, he loves to do things with husband.
Rocky is a joy...loves to play, cuddle and just be with me. Before I got him I was missing someone to take care of...to love...besides my husband, LOL. He keeps me company and is our baby. I am a much happier person with my fluff.
LOL, Janine....can't wait to meet you, I'm so excited!!!
I am extremely shy, but I have no problem making conversations with random people when I'm out with Tiffany. I feel a lot more comfortable and confident when I'm with her.

She also is a big stress reliever. Just sitting down and petting her always improves my mood.
I agree about the "having someone to take care of" thing: we aren't having biological children and a lot of my friends are either trying, pregnant or already have kids... Although I don't have the drive to be a mommy to a human baby, it's nice to have a little pup to care for and be responsible for. I feel like if even at a very, very small level, I understand what my friends say about their kids...
Mason has definitely enriched our lives. He is the sweetest little guy, loves everyone and everything. It is a joy to wake up in the morning and see those big dark eyes just waiting to start the day and then the puppy kisses. My husband, who didn’t want another dog agrees, he is something special.
I really can't even put into words or count the ways my furbabies enrich my days and nights! I am one who wanted NOT to be within 10feet of a dog until just 2 years ago === now I can't even leave my fluffs for a day without HURTING to have them nearby...

They give me calm, peace, smiles, love, comfort, respect, adoration, bouncy wiggly greetings, tender kisses, invitations for me to meet new people, a distraction from the muckity-muck of the day, warmth on my belly at night when I'm watching tv....ahhh...I need to stop...I could sit here typing forever...
They are my life. I have always had animals of some sort my entire life. Even small dogs, but mostly large dogs. I met a mix in the humane shelter and I had to know what kind of dog she was. I met Nikki at 10 weeks old and haven't looked back. I've been around a lot of animals and there is just something about Maltese.
They make you feel good. Just touching them makes you just feel so good. Add a kiss and you are in heaven. A tiny puppy is just.............ahhh no words to express. Every one is so special with different personalities to make you laugh and your heart sing.
My girls are my life, heart and soul. The unconditional love is incredible and the joy they bring is unbelievable. How can you have a bad day when you come home to these faces????
It's wonderful to come home for a long days work or 5 minutes outside and have the fluffs greet you like you benn gone a year. They always aknowledge your arrival w/ such enythusiasm. What could be better than that. They share the bed w/us theymake the house more cheerful to some home too,I even take them to see daddy on his lunch breaks. If pharmcuticals coul bottle that ,we wouldn't need psychiatrists.
awww dolce has brought me alot of laughter , joy , i was having baby fever and with four children already i refuse to have more human babies but dolce he is my baby .. his eyes , his licks ,his kisses, even his bark. lol , that way he jumps up every morning to say good morning ... just stroking him.. the joy i see in my kids faces when they play with him... even my bf that didnt agree i should get a pup loves him.. i had animals growing up , but there is something about the maltese and their little bounce and joy that makes everyone happy ... i love my baby .
Like i tell my husband. Sugar is almost human!! lol
I am like Liza with 4 kids. But I did want more babies (call me crazy) and DH does NOT. So I told him either give me a baby or a maltese. So he got me a malt, lol. Noel is such a sweetie and loves to climb in my lap in the morning while I sip my java and surf the net. She follows me everywhere, even into the shower! lol

Terra has really latched onto DH and is his little princess. She greets him everyday after work and stands up on her hind legs and tip toes around like that until he picks her up. :)

Triniti is Malayah's BFF. They sleep together every night. My whole family can walk by him and he will greet them, but he only lights up when he see's her.

They bring all of us such joy and help me come out of my shell a bit as I am a shy person as well. :) I always thought I was a cat person till I got a malt. Now my siamese feels the pressure of competition! j/k lol
One of the many things that my malts are good at is lightening my life in bad times.

I love them SO MUCH - the two of them.

i got Twinkle when i was in high school. She really taught me responsibility. She taught me how to care about something other than myself (which is hard when you are in high school). ANyway, she made me realize how much i love animals and now I am applying to vet school! yay! She has also been through my entire college career and was there with me when i struggle through school, friends, family, financial and roomate problems. She has been through it ALL and has supported me all the way through. I would not have gotten through a lot of problems without her. She's my partner in crime!
I dont even know where to start. Bailey has changed my life in every way. My parents keep nagging me to have a child but I tell them why would I do that I have Bailey. They look at how I treat Bailey and are amazed that a small little doggie has so much control over me:) I JUST LOVE THAT LITTLE GIRL
Lol, That is such a sweet story...how old is Twinkle?
