I am out of the hospital and glad to be back!

I feel like I have missed so much…I have a lot of catching up to do.

I was in the hospital for some kind of virus…I was running fevers over 104 degrees and never felt so sick. Of cause, once you are there they find other things wrong with you. I am very anemic, severely vitamin B-12 deficient and have low potassium. While there my white blood count kept dropping as did my platelets and I came close to having blood transfusions. My white blood count and platelets are now back to normal. I am taking folic acid and have to go for B-12 shots. I do go see my doctor frequently and do have blood taken all the time so these results are somewhat of a surprise to me and my doctor.

The worst for me though was worrying about Chloe, Summer and my two cats. My daughter was away doing makeup for a horror movie so I had to rely on a friend of mine to go feed them. They were home alone all day and night and it got to the point that I just started crying and wanted to go home and hug them. Poor Summer wouldn’t come out from under the bed and at one point didn’t eat for a whole day. I had my friend buy some dry food to leave out for them (I feed Dr. Harvey’s) so Summer wouldn’t have to go without eating.

To top it all off, my last night at the hospital my daughter was back home, came to see me than went home to get some clothes to stay at my apt. and tripped on the steps and broke her foot. She did manage to make it back to my apt. to feed everyone though…I had to tell her to have her boyfriend take her to the emergency room. She did not want to go. It’s a no brainer…her foot turned black and blue immediately and swelled up and she said she heard it crack. Now she has to go on disability and can’t put any weight on her foot for 12 weeks and the doctor said if her bone shifts, she will need surgery!

It’s been a fun week and a half!

Oh Donna.:w00t: What a terrible time you had. No one else knows since I didn't want to betray any confidence but Donna and I were supposed to drive to Pat's Puppy Party together last Sunday. On Saturday I got an e-mail from Donna's account from her friend just saying she was ill, in the hospital and would get in touch when she was out. So I had no idea until an e-mail from you this morning. You poor thing. I've heard of people having things like high temp spikes for unknown reasons and how frightening. Did they ever figure what virus? I'm happy you're out and better now and they seem to know what's going on.
I can just imagine how worried you were about Chloe, Summer and your cats. I would have taken the two fluffs (DS is allergic to cats) while you were there!! I wish I would have known how to get in touch. And now your daughter. :new_shocked: Sending thoughts and prayers for better health to both of you. This is one of those weeks you just want to wipe off the calendar. Please take care of yourself and I'm sure that Chloe, Summer and kitties must be thrilled to have you home. :grouphug:
So next year at Pat's right? xoxox

WOW what a trying time you've had to deal with! I'm glad you're back home and on the mend. I can't imagine how worried you must have been about your health and about your fluffs and now your dear daughter!

Praying whatever it was will stay far far away from you and you'll never have to go through that again. Keeping your daughter in my prayers as well.

Hugs,

Linda
Wow ! So glad you are feeling better- how scary for you!!
Oh, I am so sorry you have been sick but glad you are back home with your babies......Your poor daughter, bless her heart....hope her foot feels better soon. I wish you a speedy recovery!!!:wub::wub:
Wow! Scary! I'm so happy you're home now and reunited with your furkids. So sad for your daughter, I broke my ankle in two places 4 years ago and had to undergo surgery to have two plates and 16 screws put in. 4 days in the hospital and 12 weeks out so it's not fun. Tell your daughter to do exactly as her dr. tells her and it will be fine.
so glad you are home and feeling better!!
Wow, you've sure had it rough lately. Glad you are doing better and hugs to you and your babies.
Oh my goodness! I hope you stay better and that your daughter's foot doesn't shift so that she doesn't need surgery! I'll be keeping her in my thoughts. Please keep us updated.
I hope that you're feeling well soon.

Your babies are adorable.

I do hope that your daughter doesn't over-do-it - as having surgery on the foot can be debilitating for a very, very long time.

All the best,

Allie
oh Donna, as I was reading your story, I thought why oh why didn't I live close by, I am retired and have all the time in the world. I could have been a great help to you and to Chloe, Summer and the kitty's. I'm glad your back home and doing well, I wonder what kind of a bug you got, it's scarey to think how many virus's etc are out there just waiting for us.:w00t:
I feel for your daughter like Kim I broke my ankle many years ago and was in the hospital for a week, I had all the screws and plates also. ugh, I hope the surgery goes well for her.

I glad you're finally back home and on your way to full recovery. How sad that your girls had to be left alone...it must have been very upsetting to you.

I want to thank everyone for their well wishes for my daughter and I. I would like to say that I feel fine, but I am still not feeling 100%...I feel like I have no energy at all and hope I start feeling better soon.

Sue, thanks for volunteering to take car of Chloe and Summer but I wouldn't have had a way to get them to you. My friend who came by house twice a day, doesn't have a car and was taking buses back and forth. Unfortunately, she couldn't take Chloe and Summer home because she has two big dogs. They just said it was a virus...I guess I will never know what kind.

Paula, I wish someone lived closer who could have taken care of Chloe and Summer. They were all I could think of. It made me realize that I do not have a good backup plan and need one for such emergencies.

Like you and Kim, I also broke my ankle years ago and have scews and plates as well...my daughter may not need surgery...hopefully!

Pat, I was very disappointed at not being able to attend your party. I was so looking foward to meeting everyone and their pups.
