That is so very sad, and I thought those sparklers were supposed to be safe, or so they say, but I never trusted them.
We had someone let off fireworks across the street from us, they back on grassland and it was a very dry summer. It was there wedding so they let off a few, but geez you would think with the summer being so dry and that was the summer of the huge fires burning all around us. I was so pissed, it was around midnight and I was about to call the bylaw to let them know but then they stopped thankfully and no grass fires, but I was peeved at them because the year before kids set fire to the grasslands behind their place and we watched with anticipation that we might have to pack up and leave if the wind shifted - scary
I think the home ones should be banned, leave it up the pros at designated locations such as in the middle of the river - they do that here for Canada Day, set a barge in the middle of the river and let the fireworks off

Rex slept beside me all night. This morning I went back to bed for a bit and he curled up in my hair. I thought that was so sweet, he was like "you got rid of my hair, so I will just use yours to keep warm!"
