In the market for a new mattress?

Sears has a really great 50% off sale going on for their mattress's. Got an awesome deal for a new Serta (I was trying to get one, as close as possible to the ones the Hilton had at the AMA's. That bed was AWESOME!) Also got Olivia a twin to replace the really bad one she has now. (ya know, one of those cheapo 99.00 for the set kind) Now that she is potty trained and all, but I am still going to seal it up in a plastic covering.

I didn't know that sale was still on.. may drive the 45 minutes to check it out. Can you tell me which Serta you liked so much? The item # or something to identify it please.
I love our Sterns and Foster Golden elegance, but I don't know if they make it any more since the company was bought out. It was $5,000,on sale but well worth it. We've had it for 10 years,no depressions,no sagging,it's like the day we bought it. It was worth it,to sleep like a grand hotel bed.
If you can get one in a discontinued warehouse or even used and sterilizied ..I'd do it....

We bought a Serta, can't remember what one it was,but their top of the line, firm, has memory foam,it's ok,but too soft. I think about all these mattresses are memory foam now....We bought it for the vacation home.
Oh I got a Sterns and Foster Ardmore and I love it. But getting sheets is going to be a bugger...Went for the King good grief..Won't buy a pillowtop again they go to soft. If you want a pillowtop get a feather bed to put on top and it makes it into a heavenly bed the hotels brag about...

We ended up getting the Serta Tranquil Sands plush in king. Got it all for less than $950.00 it was like 1200 with the 1/2 off. We won't have it until 9/21, then the real test begins!

I'm afraid if I got a bed that nice I would never want to sleep anywhere else again.

If I could have fit that bed in my van, at the Hilton. It would have come home with me!

LOL, if you think that one was nice, you should have been at the nationals in NJ. Those beds had some kind of supernatural quality or something. EVERYONE raved about them. People were talking more about the beds than they were the dogs. :innocent:
It does ruin you for any other mattress. We asked about the mattress at the Hitlon DC,they told us about Sterns and Foster, before that, never heard of them...I'm happy to say our pillowtop hasn't gone soft so far... It's a bugger to get sheets for though. Sometimes Sears will have great sales on king deep pocket sheets, when they do,I grab a couple sets. I also hint for Xmas.... We usually get a gift cert for Sears so we use it on sheets and blankets or tools, depends.
My back is so bad, that we just couldn't "el cheap" it on a mattress anymore. I couldn't believe the first night's sleep, almost had to blow me out of bed w/ dynomite... The older you get,the more you want a good mattress....

Our old mattress was over 20 years old and we paid...don't laugh,$125 on the set...it was on sale... considering you could get a used car for $400,that was a lot for a mattress.
We got the goodie out of it,that's for sure. Told hubby at the time, hope we can get another 20 years out of this one and we're already half way there...You can't even get by w/ $125 in sales tax on a mattress any more...

Good luck w/ the mattress and let us know if the fluffs love it...
