Indy neutering today

1483 Views 29 Replies 14 Participants Last post by  Littlemans Mom
I dropped Indy off about an hour ago for his neutering and to have the rest of his baby teeth removed. I didn't know how empty the house was going to feel until I walked in and no littleman to greet me
I cleaned his food and water bowls and put them back, now I will wait to hear from the Vet on how he is doing. I can't wait to pick him up tomorrow
I will have to settle for reading the boards today and looking at all your cute little babies until we have our little guy home

Oh, I know what you mean. Even if K & C are just at the groomers the house is way too quiet.

I sure hope Indy will breeze through his surgery. I know you will be so glad when tomorrow comes!! Hang in there, Mama!!

Thank you all for thinking of me and little Indy
I have been trying to keep busy today, I had a Dr's appointment and made a few stops here and there. I still haven't heard from the Vet about Indy yet
I am going to call around 4:30 if I haven't heard from him yet. I will let you know how he is when I hear from our Vet

I just got off the phone with the Vet and Indy is doing very well
...he is sleeping at the moment
They removed 13 of his baby teeth, he said they were not in there by much, so he had no trouble getting them out
I am so happy

I'm sure that Indy will be fine during the surgery. The difficulty is when he comes home he will have medication for pain but in a few days but when he is feeling better is the difficult time. Bijou had exploratory surgery for his neutering, undistended testicles, last Thursday. He is supposed to not exert himself, such as jumping, running, etc. for 10 days after the surgery. This is impossible I think because this is totally against their nature. I think that the only way to do this would be to put them in a Pet Taxi for the whole time. I can't do that to him. I wish you well and maybe you can do what I haven't been able to that well. Maybe you could ask your Vet for recovery suggestions.

Thank you and I'm so sorry to hear about Bijou
I hope all goes well with his recovery. Let me know how he is doing

I will check with the Vet about any special instructions tomorrow, I was just so happy and excited that he was doing well that the only thing I did remember to ask was about what to feed him when he gets home

Bijou is recovering fine thank you. I don't know if everyone's dog acts this way but a warning, paper training has taken a set back. The house has turned into his paper or Wizdog in my case. Just when you think that he has it down pat a set back occurs. Maybe it's just him I hope and you may not have to go through this. Maybe he is getting revenge because I went out for a day without him. I put him in his carrier to go out and came back in a few hours and he wet his carrier. I cleaned it out and went out to eat with inlaws and he had a BM smeared around the carrier. I have been putting pillows on the floor for him so he would be more comfortable and he just wet on the second one.

I promise he is not mad at you! His body probably just feels different and he doesn't know what to do about it...... I wouldn't worry about it until after the stitches come out....

I did the same thing just last week! Jack got neutered last Monday and I was SO lonely and bored without him... not to mention worried!
I am so glad that Indy is doing well, I hope he recovers just as fast as Jack, who had TWELVE teeth pulled, and STILL managed to fully recover from both neuter and teeth in only a few days!
And by now, he's basically exactly back to normal!

Best wishes, I hope Indy is well!
