I wish my two would bond. I have a two-and-a-half-year-old female and in July, I got Catcher, who is now almost seven months' old. They pretty much live parallel lives. They play by chasing each other and rolling around but that's about it. Catcher "tortures" Kallie by pulling on her fur, etc. They never lie down and cuddle together, etc.
sher... these 2 get along great because they don't live together. they are always excited to see each other but when i babysit joel, they don't have the same chemistry. in fact, canaille loses her good potty habits as joel quickly overstays his welcome.
i know it takes some time, when a second one joins the home, for them to truly bond. how much time? others who have gone through this experience will be able to answer better than i. having said this, i can only imagine it will get better before it gets worse so don't despair, they will come around

kallie/catchers mom----thats exactly how ellie and sprite were. when we got gruffi...the girls bonded and started ganging up on gruffi. and then when we had my brothers dog here----the girls are now inseparable!
so, my solution, get a dog that both dogs will hate and have him stay at your house for a week. lol.

msmagnolia: no, they are not related. joel is 5 years old, canaille is 4. they both weigh exactly the same and come from different breeders.
DMZ dogs: yes i do but there has been technical difficulties and it is temporarily unavailable.
joy: yes, pics are from a digital camera: olympus C5050
here they are, getting a little foot wash and pre-drying together before i get the blower
