I couldn't sleep so I've been looking at all the Maltese pages on http://dogster.com when I came across this one:

Her hair is like standing up on her head. Did they use gel or something? It is so adorable. Looks like Naima from America's Next Top Model

Yes, there is hair gel that groomers sometimes use. The first time we picked up Beastie from a grooming session, I noticed he looked really different (NOTHING gets by ME). Anyway it soon became apparent that the groomer used hair get to keep the hair on his forehead and around his eyes plastered down. I was actually relieved, since I didn't like the look she gave him to start with.

I have seen this gel for sale at some of the shows I've been to and was wondering how well it worked. I think I'll go ahead and try it...thank you for the heads up!

I like it for top knot fuzzies...I don't know how well it would work to really slick back the coat. It doesn't leave a lot of residue or make the hair super stiff which I really like.

You can use Kolestral conditioner to slick the hair back as well.
