Recently switched from a pheasant and brown rice dry food to a whitefish and sweet potatoe formula (this is Day 3 of the switch). Gracie doesn't seem to want to eat it and picks at it.

Well today she came in and one eye was very squinty and both eyes looks puffy and red. I gave her a small dose of children's benadryl and the puffiness went away.

We have been having lots of winds here and the pollen count is very high.

So I'm wondering... does this sound like a food allergy or did she get into something in the yard or what???

Not sure what to do... switch food to be sure or feed her more of the whitefish sweet potatoe food and see if she swells up again?

Very troubling :( *understatement*:tumbleweed: <<is that a pollen rolling by? :confused1:

LOL I don't know which it is but I'd try taking her off the new food and see what happens. Love the little tumbleweed smiley.:tumbleweed:

She probably got in something in the yard.

Given the time of year, I would guess it to be pollen related more so the new food. As you said it has been windy, take care to watch her eyes for the next day or so to make sure she didnt get any debris in it that might turn into an infection.

Do you have any drops? That might help if there are irritants. Hope she doesn't have another reaction.
