It was two-years ago today. It seems like yesterday. My Joplin had a major heart murmur. She would not have lived to see her first birthday without surgery. God bless her, she was only four-months-old. I'll never forget how afraid I was of losing her. How wee Samantha kissed her good-bye as we left for the hospital.

I just wanted to share with my friends on SM

Happy Anniversary Baby...I'm so very sorry little Sammie isn't here to share

Thanks you guys. I will never forget that day as long as I live. I'll never forget when, at twelve-weeks-old, the vet said she won't make it without surgery. I went to a specialist just to hear the same news. I remember looking up at the doctor, with tears in my eyes, and saying "fix it then".

A week before her surgery, a friend of mine brought my precious little Samantha over to my house. She was a gift for Joplin. We wanted her in good spirits and to have even more of a reason to make it home. I believe in the power of the mind. Even with animals. Joplin and Sammie were the best of friends from the day she arrived. Thank you Sammie

Hi Debbie,
You are such an angel and give your babies the best of the best. Give Joppy a hug and kissy kissy from me and Sassy. I'll bet Sammie is jumping for joy at the rainbow bridge singing a sweet little song for Joppy today. Life is a celebration!

Thank you so much, Pat. It has been a very emotional day for me...

But, I swear, one of Sammie's personalities WAS the Chili Pepper. You hit the nail on the head, Sammie IS celebrating life. She's a dancing fool, right about now. God bless her. I know she's happy for Jops.

And Paris, Joppy is listening to you. She is bugging the CRAP out of the boys!!

Debbie,

So sorry I did not see this yesterday....but I am so glad that the day came when you could celebrate Joplin's anniversary with at least some smiles....I too am so sorry that Sammie could not join you and Joplin for the great day on earth, but as others said I know she was up there rooting her good friends on.

Life is truly a miracle, one we will never figure out but one that allows such gentle souls as your Sammie and my Billy to come offer some wonderful times for each of us.

Thanks for sharing the day.

MalteseJane - The staples ARE huge, aren't they. It looks painful, but they didn't seem to bother Jops. Well one did when it came halfway out and was poking her. So I pulled the rest of it out with a, you guessed it, staple remover - LOL

Susan - You're so right. Life is a miracle. Though sometimes cut short, the miracle lives on in our hearts forever.
