Ugh, that's awful! Those poor dogs. What an awful way to die. It just makes me sick. Her punishment should have been much more harsh imo.

If that essay is punishment then college counts as cruel and unusual punishment!!! Unbelievable!!! *no smiley angry enough to express feelings*

How horrible! She got off way to easy...she should be left in a hot van overnight just to see how those poor pups suffered.

She gave 7 out of 8 a death sentance and all she got was an essay to write? Obviously judge wasn't a dog owner.... Poor doggies,I hope they took the last surviver away from her. I didn't see anything about her not being allowed to own animals in the future...

That article sent me surfing over the web about that story and, sadly, other stories about overheated vans. I had been thinking about getting a small r.v. and traveling with one or more of my dogs, just for fun. But it certainly gives me pause about that.

And for the sentence that woman got, this is the only bright spot I found in the story--one of the commenters said, "I know the person that oversees the Jeff Co Animal Shelter, trust me this woman will be cleanin poop the entire 80 hours! Hope it is nice and warm those days."
