Last night I happened to catch a certain thread (can of worms) and I was SHOCKED! I didn't read past the first page, because frankly I'm glad I missed all that, I HATE drama, but I wanted you all to know that I still feel like this place is friendly and welcoming! Now, I haven't been here in over a year (various reasons, mostly bcuz my internet was shut off and I was also depressed and hit a low when Vi was missing), and I don't remember a lot of people (a few names ring a bell), but everyone has been friendly and I'm glad I came back :) I just thought I should mention that ;)

It was a good thread, you should go back and read it.

Yes, we've had some problems here - but that very thread has changed the direction this forum was headed.

It has brought us back together again.
I am so glad you got your little one back. I cant believe after all that time......what a blessing.

Welcome back.
Welcome back, you do need to get a cup of tea, and spend a couple hours:blink: reading the thread. Pat is so right we are family again. Many dear friends opened their hearts and we all found we shared alot of the same hurts.
So glad you found your Vi.
That thread was definitely not another piece of "drama." It was heartfelt and reminded a lot of people what SM has always been about. It made us all decided to "Take SM Back" Many of the older members that had left have come back because of that thread. It was a heart-warming, heart-felt thread. And, I am glad that it happened. Thank you, Paula!

:goodpost: i agree, thank you Paula!!
That's wonderful!! I WILL go back and read it! I'm sorry if my word 'drama' insulted you, I truly didn't mean it like that. I guess a better word would have been 'turmoil' or something. I just meant that I could tell it was getting heated and I didn't want to get involved in all that. Ignorance is bliss ;)

When I first lost Vi, my first instinct was to come here and cry to people who would GET IT... instead I sat alone crying with people around me making me feel stupid for 'crying over a dog'. But when you're depressed, you convince yourself that burdening others with your troubles is stupid. No one cares...especially since I hadn't been here in a while. I know now that it was silly for me to think that., You all would have probably cried WITH me and made me feel ok with crying over her. But thank GOD all is well now, and we're back here at SM where friends are abundant and friends are family!!
Welcome back! Sorry about VI! Am thrilled that she is back! Would love to hear that story!A few years ago I had a home invasion and my most valuble treasure at the time was a 14 week blue chihuahua pu naned Chenelle. I had just had to put to sleep an 18 year old yorkie. So it was a terrible time.... Now i am blessed to have blissfull malts, just the sweetest breed ever! IMP.

Thank you :) And we're not exactly sure how Vi ended up lost, we suspect that my HUSBAND left the door open while carrying things into the house (which he does all the time, but usually I'm there to watch the dogs and get them back in...except THAT day I was out celebrating my birthday with my best friends) And we suspect that she followed Gypsy (who is notorious for running off down the road, but ALWAYS comes back) and because Vi gets lost (literally) in my front yard if she doesn't see anyone, all I can think of is that she followed her to the neighbors farm down the way like Gypsy always does, and then (because Vi's never been down there EVER) lost track of Gypsy and got lost. SHe went the opposite direction from my house and ended up at a random house about 1/2 a mile away from me at the most. She was right there that whole time! Being cared for and loved!
My story is remarkable and I know how very lucky I am to have her back. I am SO protective of her now it's insane. My kids laugh at me. BUt I refuse to let it happen again.

yes we are all here with open arms and lots of love, we all love our babies and understand your feelings. we laugh together, cry together and some times disagree with each other but we were brought together because of the love of the maltese breed. I'm so glad your here
Wow I just read the story of Vi! I am so glad that she was safe and loved until you were able to get her back! What a blessing!
