Keeping dog's teeth clean

I recently had Zita's teeth cleaned at our vet. With labs, it was over $800. Yikes! That was with no problems, no extractions, just labs, anesthesia, and cleaning. I've always tried to brush Zita's teeth fairly often (a few times a week) but now I'm trying to never, ever miss a day.
We have a 2 1/2 week trip coming up, during which Zita will go to our usual doggie-sitter (Zita goes to the sitter's home). She's great with Zita, but doesn't really do much grooming, other than use an eye wipe daily. I feel like it would be a bit much to ask the sitter to brush her teeth every day. Zita doesn't like Greenies.
Can anyone suggest an easy to keep Zita's teeth clean while at the sitter's house? I really don't want plaque to build up for 2 weeks!
Thanks!

Hi! So nice that you brush your dogs teeth! One of my dogs are a real good chewer. Cody is not at all but my Molly has pearly white teeth as her favorite bone is a dental bone. It’s a nylon white dinosaur bone with all those round ribs on it. I bought it at chewy.com. Every night it’s her go to toy and literally chews on every single day. She eats wet food too and this dental bone does great. So if your doggie is a chewer I totally recommend this.

If the Bone that you are describing is from Nylabone, please, please be very, very careful since it is made from resin and can be very harmful for Dogs. I did quite a lot of research on the Nylabone products (resin) and it has been fatal. Our late Snuggles had them and had stomach issues and I stopped giving them to her immediately. Stomach issues cleared up!!

I have never had my little guy's teeth cleaned and he is 8 years old. Why? Because his teeth are sparkling white with no plaque, nothing. His vet is shocked that he could reach this age without any dental issues at all. I believe the reason his teeth are clean is that he has been given genuine Yak milk chew treats all his life, which are totally digestible and take a really long time to chew down. You have to make sure you don't buy the fake ones that even reputable companies offer because they are made with COW'S milk, not YAK milk from Nepal.

How about baby carrots? The one of my dogs that has had the least dental issues is very fond of baby carrots. Maybe it's a coincidence, or maybe they help.

I think it does help, Luck had perfect white teeth and got carrots daily as a treat.
