Hi all. I just had to come on here because I knew a lot of people here would understand. My husbands cat, Pookie is not doing well. We are not sure how old Pookie is but he has had him for 14 years. Pook's was an adult cat when he adopted him from the Humane Society. Pookie has had a great life with no health problems but tonight I can tell something is wrong. My husband said he will take him to the vet in the morning and if he isn't doing well he is going to have him put to sleep. My husband doesn't want to, he is with his cat now talking very softly to him. I know that Pook's has had a great life but it is so hard when you know they aren't doing well and this might be the end. We figure Pookie is between 16 and 18 years old. He is a wonderful cat. Very gentle and big, he weighs about 30 pounds. Lacey just loves him. She protects him against my cat, the monster. Right now she won't leave him. He is behind the couch in the corner and she is on top of the couch looking down at him. He seems not to be in any pain, at least I hope so. The emergency vet in my area is just horrible and I don't want to take him there unless I have to. I just had to tell someone that would understand how hard it is when you know that your baby is not doing well. Thanks all.
