My malt got hit by a soccer ball !

This was the first time I decided to take Vanilla to my daughter's soccer game. It was a gorgeous night tonight and I figured it would be great for her to sit on my lap and enjoy the outdoors. The soccer game is about an hour long and they play on this huge field and next to a park. She was loving it and sat on my lap so nicely but.......... the poor thing got hit with the soccer ball on the left side of her body. :w00t: It happened so fast. I saw the ball coming and my first reaction was to cover her face so that's what I did and the ball hit her. She seems fine and when it happened she didn't squeal but just was shocked. I hope she is not bruised but again she really seems okay even when I touch her in that area. I am so glad it did not hit her face.

oh no that must have hurt! Glad she is ok, poor thing goes to have fun and that happen's :( I hope she still wants to attend after this. Poor little thing
Gosh, that could have really injured her. You've had lots of close calls! I think it might help mitigate these situations to think what is the worst that could happen and then think ahead what you can do to prevent it before it happens. Malts really can be high maintenance in that regard but they are so little and fragile that we just have to be very careful with them. Hoping for only good things for Vanilla from now on!
Oh goodness! That could have been horrible! I'm so glad she's okay!

:goodpost:poor baby, I'd be taking her to the vet for a checkup, I know my dh calls me a drama queen but I would worry about her, weird things happen and they are so fragile, maybe you should buy her a stroller, it would be safer. Hugs to you it had to scare the life out of you

I agree with Sher. In a few short months poor Vanilla has collapsed from heat stroke, gotten into chocolate (twice) and chewing gum, been mauled by a two year old and now hit by a soccer ball! Even if she has nine lives like a cat, her luck is eventually going to run out!

wow, that's a lot for a young pup to go through!! Be careful from now on - you don't want Vanilla to associate going out with you with pain. If you 'need' to keep taking her, I would invest in a stroller like someone mentioned, where she can still be out and about but is protected from the kids messing with her, soccer balls and 2 year old ear pullers of the world.
A fast-moving soccer ball can kill or seriously hurt a Malt if it hits their throat. Thank God she is okay.
What a lucky girl Vanilla is. That could have done some serious damage.
I think the stroller idea is a good one.
Oh my! Poor Vanilla! I vote for the stroller too. I think especially at sporting events a stroller can help keep our babies safe. Praying that Vanilla is ok.
wow all that happened to her? Lord the poor little girl, I would agree with everyone on the stroller,I dont have one myself but I dont go any places I needed one ,maybe I live a really boring life LOL

Hope the little girl's has much better luck!
Poor you and poor pretty Vanilla! Sher, just to be safe that she is not bleeding internally please take her to your vet tomorow!

You 2 are in our prayers,
Vicki
I took her in to the vet this morning to get her weighed because she was 12 pounds and should be around the 9-10 range. She's 10.5 pounds. I've limited treats and she's been on Grandma Lucy's.
The vet came out to say hello and I mentioned the soccer ball thing. He thorougly looked her over and she is perfectly fine. She is acting her normal bouncy self , thank goodness.
Thank you all for your concern
thank god she wasnt hurt seriously , how scary , balls hurt !!!
So glad that she's okay. I think you have to run interference for her.

That's great news, you really should buy a stroller she would love it and I'm sure your kids would love to push her around in it. Wow oh wow she's lost alot of weight:chili: my girls are on diets, I hope they have the same results
