New Year's Resolution...

I was just talking to my friend about New Year's Resolutions and whether or not she actually keeps them. She said she didn't even bother anymore. :HistericalSmiley:

Well, here it is April and I am still doing well with mine. I used to always make the resolution to lose weight--yeah right! After five or six years of that and no results (well, maybe if I tried  :innocent: )...

So last year my resolution was to not be so negative and if it was a rude/mean/negative thought to just keep it to myself. Albeit, I have a long way to go on that one, I really do try and I do catch myself (although not as much anymore--yeah me! LOL). There is just too much negativity in this world and I don't want to add to it.

So this year my resolution is to read as many of the classics as I can. I think I have already read around 7 or 8 so I am really trucking. I got the Kindle for my birthday and most of the classics are free, so I am taking full advantage of them.

So what is/was your resolution and have you stuck to it? We are already 1/3 of way into the year!

Nicole, good for you!!! I am inspired as you are the first person I know of that has really taken their resolution serious.
Forget the "diet" and do something else....I like what you are doing.
We could have a "1/2 a New Years Resolution" starting July 1st.
Keep going and I will join you!!

Nicole--I think that's AWESOME and I also agree with New Year's resolutions being a great idea.

I did not make any this year. After 18 months of now being back to work full time, it's been one of the BIGGEST transitions of my life--and one of the most challenging as a mother to young kids. Around the beginning of this year I feel like I am FINALLY settling in and accepting where I'm at and am actually starting to count my blessings rather than only seeing the challenges.

Not to mention this past year really took a toll on me physically--much longer days, BUSY as all **** almost 24/7. Having to adjust my whole life, basically.

Really has been an overhaul mentally, emotionally and physically. So, no New Year's resolutions per say--I've had enough on my plate. But things are going well and I'm happy that 1/3 into this year that I'm in a pretty good place.

Right now I am reading "Crime and Punishment." I am enjoying it (I am half way through it) but some parts just become so long and drawn out that my mind wanders. LOL

Here's what I have read or am going to read so far...(A few I read in middle school or HS, but I want to re-read)

A Christmas Carol
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
Moby Dick
The Jungle
The Scarlet Letter
Little Women
War & Peace (going to really try on that one!)
Sense & Sensibility
Pride & Prejudice
A Midsummer's Night's Dream

Any other suggestions?

I just read all the books in the Chronicles of Narnia! Really fun...passed them on to my Granddaughter.
