Great job...I haven't taught Tucker to roll over yet, but I've been wanting too. Any tips for training on "Roll Over"?

For the longest time, shes known how to roll over, but she always needed my hand signal to kind of get her moving in the right direction. Well, Phoebe will do anything, I swear, if she loves the treat she will be getting. So she loves this new dried turkey hearts treat, so, knowing she wanted it really badly, I just looked at her and said, "roll over".
Well it was soooo funny because she basically just sat there staring at me, and finally jerked her head as if she was going to do it, so I said uh huh, good girl, really softly and slowly, eventually, she just went with it

We repeated a few times and each time was funnier than the last. Some times it would be like a half roll, sometimes she would go half way and then back, or twirl funny she was just so excited for that treat. She eventually did quite a few perfectly

Oh yes... Start by having her in the 'down' position. At first you'll want to have the treat in your hand. Facing Tucker, you will put your right hand, to the right of his head, close to the floor. Slowly, move your hand as if you are going to go around, over the top of his head to the other side. During this is when I'd say the command 'roll over'. Keeping your hand more toward his collar than his nose if that makes sense. His eyes should follow that treat, eventually dragging him all the way over
Eventually you wont need the treat, but the hand signal kind of always gave Phoebe something to look at, so it would force her body in the right direction. Now its still super funny because she is trying so hard to do it on her own. There are so many steps involved

Hey, thanks for the info...maybe I'll make teaching "roll over" my project for the weekend...last weekend I taught him to "high five", but that only took about two minutes. I have a feeling "roll over" is gonna take a little longer.
