Maybe a silly question but how do you post pictures ?
<div align="right">index.php?act=findpost&pid=28376
Do you mean post pictures to your post, signature or Gallery? Looks like you're doing fine posting your avatar... your baby is so cute!

Oh, you mean a "signature" photo. You will need to have this photo hosted some place. The avatar and Gallery photos can be uploaded from your own computer but the signature photo will need to be "hosted" by a hosting company. You can use Image Cave, which is a free hosting company and very easy to use. Here is the URL: Image Cave Web Site

OK... so the first step is to design your signature photo. LadyMontava has volunteered to help those who don't know how to create one, so you may want to contact her to make it for you. You will need to email her some photos. Or you can use any photo you have, etc.

Then go to Image Cave, register with them and then click on Add Photos. You can then get the photo from your computer and upload it to Image Cave. Make sure it isn't too large of a file. From my experience I believe it should be around 7-25 KB... if it is too big you can resize it on Image Cave.

Then once you have the signature photo hosted go to "My Controls" at the top of the SM pages. On the left you will see categories. Choose "Edit Signature". Then you will see a box open up and you can type in your dog's name, etc. if you want that to be on your "Signature". Or you don't have to type in anything. You can just post a picture.

If you have a photo for your signature, click on "IMG" which is above the text box. A pop up will come up and you then will put the URL of where your image is hosted. This will appear next to your photo in Image Cave and you should "copy" the URL and then paste it in the pop up IMG box.

This probably sounds very confusing. Just play around with it and you'll be fine. You can't really mess up. I think most of us have just done it by trial and error. If you have a particular question, don't hesitate to ask. Good luck!!

would anyone be interested in being able to upload pics directly from your computer into a post, woithout having to host them somewhere else? for a small donation to the site? i do this on one of my other tsites just to help pay for the extra bandwidth the pictures create, just wondering

also...

The image file needs to be hosted on another Website, other than SM. A link in your post is used to display the image. It works by displaying the image or photo from another Website inside your post.

Places like http://photobucket.com/ do free image hosting and sharing. There are others out there if you search for them.

You will need to become a member of the site. Each site is a little different so use their guidelines for uploading your pictures to the site.

You are now ready to add pictures to your posts, - here is how to do it.

Here is the method to add pictures to a post:
This assumes you are using Windows on a PC. It does not cater for Mac’s or Linux based systems. If you are using Linux then you will know enough already not to need this information.
1. Create a ‘New Topic’ or click ‘Post Reply’ in an existing topic to get into the new post screen (see Fig 1).
2. Type in the text of your post.
3. Put the cursor where you want to display the picture.
4. Click on the button.
5. Open a new copy of internet explorer or your browser of choice (you can have more than one open at once).
6. Go to your picture hosting site, ie http://photobucket.com/
7. Go to your albums and find the picture you want to show in your post.
8. Right mouse-click on the picture and select ‘Properties’ from the menu.
9. A ‘Properties’ window will open. Next to Address (URL) is the full internet address for your picture. Put your mouse-pointer at the end of the address just after the last letter. Hold down the left mouse button and highlight the whole address right back to the ‘http://’ part. Press the ‘Ctrl’ button and ‘C’ button together (this copies the address to your clipboard).
10. Go back the browser page containing your new post. Press ‘Ctrl’ button and ‘V’ button together or select ‘Edit / Paste’ from the pulldown menu (this pastes the full internet address of your picture into your post).
11. Click on the [img] button again.
12.  When you submit it, it automatically links the picture in.
