Yesterday I scheduled Tigh's neutering for the end of September. He will be six months old the first of September but we are giving him a few extra weeks to allow his teeth to come out ( currently he still has retained most of his baby teeth). I have arranged for him to have "pre op blood work" the week before. The office asked if I wanted it done the week before or the day before. I wasn't sure what to say. Are there specific labs I should make sure are done?

He should have a CBC (complete blood count) and some sort of chemistry panel that includes an ALT, ALKP, BUN, and Crea. A week before or a day before is fine.

Thank you!! I want to make sure that everything that should be done is done. I'm a nurse and know what a human pre op profile would be bur wasn't sure on a dog
. Actually except for the Chest xray and EKG it's not far off!!
