Last week Maxi and i were going for a regular walk and we always go the same route so we are walking down to my building and i am talking on my cellphone all of a sudden i hear WOOF WOOF WOOF but a mean WOOF mean i look up and all i see is this big huge 200lb ROTTY staring down at maxi and i i was a lunatic because maxi was barking back and this dog looked like he was going to jump down
so i get in my house and i call the police apprently these people moved in about 4 months ago i never saw this dog before the problem was i live on a hill so my building is half down the hill this house is next door and the dog was on the terrace but not chained and because the house is like slanted all the dog has to do is work its way down i was livid i told the cop that i dont want to give these people any trouble as i love animals but they had better keep him chained when theylet him outside i said if anything happens to my maxi i will go ballistic
so far so good but i was scared for both of us

I watched Animal Planet ALL DAY yesterday!
Anyway, on one of the shows a pair of Rotts got through the fence and attacked the neighbor's guinnea pigs (2) and his Chihuahua (sp?)...Killed all of them. Well, the Chi got taken to the vet, but he had to have him put down, he was really bad.
The guy was SO sad...it broke my heart!

My God you must of been terrified!!  I tell you, these little fur balls REALLY have a bad case of "I'm the biggest dog in the world".  They are pretty fearless little things.  I would of had a heart attack over that!!

I have to say that I think Peanut may have been a rott in a past life...I swear he would try to take down a rott if we ever came across one
!! People with big dogs always laugh when Peanut trys to 'protect' me from the big dogs walking. It's cute that Peanut 'thinks' he can do it, but totally scary that given the situation he would really try.

Again, on Animal Planet yesterday
There was a set of dogs that this lady owned and one of them kept nipping/biting strangers. So they went to the dangerous animal court and she had rules to follow. She couldn't take the two dogs out together, and she had to have them on a leash at ALL times.
Well, she didn't follow the rules (because one of the dogs was sad to go alone) and he bit another person...his bites would break the skin, but nothing major.
I have NO idea what kind of dogs they were. But they were long haired..bigger than our babies...even bigger than a size level bigger than ours.
Anyway, they were REALLY cute! The judge took them away the second time and they had to go through behavioral tests. One passed fine, the other one failed miserably they said...but most of the tests they did, he did the same thing that Brink would do too...
Like they had somebody jog by him and he would lunge out as far as the leash would go to try and get at them...he never growled or barked that I saw...
Anyway, the judge ordered him put to sleep b/c he could not be re-homed! I was SO shocked! He HAD bitten 5-7 times....but he seemed so harmless really...probably needed some training...but he had him PUT TO SLEEP! Her nephew took the other dog. She was very docile in comparison.
Anyway, scared me when I saw that dog acting the very way Brink would sometimes. BUT-the lady should have followed the judges original orders!
She seemed to REALLY love those dogs! She was a hysterical mess when they took them! I felt for her, but it was her own fault too!

OMG.... that is one reason I don't watch that channel very often... it is too emotionally wrenching! Oh, I do believe they should have at least tried to have a trainer work with the dog...  yep, Kallie, also, definitely would bark and lunge at anyone who walked by us.. but she would never bite... she has never even snapped at Catcher.... who deserves to be snapped at occasionally.

I don't THINK Brinkley would actually nip anyone like that...but I wouldn't swear on it! He sounds REALLY awful sometimes. The only time he has actually nipped at someone besides my own children was when I took him to a little league game and this little girl kept WANTING to pet him...she would get close and then pull away...well, after awhile, he got annoyed~or thought she was teasing/playing and he snarled and tried to nip! Scared me to death...even though she deserved it!
I tried to tell her NOT to do that, to let him sniff her and then just PET him...not tease him...sheesh!

Anyway, I think Brink would act like that other dog just to try and GET to the people and check them out...not necessarily to be mean
...I hope!
