Sometimes they communicate perfectly

It's my day off and mom's running the store for me. I ran a bunch of errands, got the oil in my car changed, and am now ready to give baths and haircuts. Zoe saw the B-A-T-H things coming out and immediately turned, tucked her tail, and is hiding under the bed. So I called Jett telling him he gets to go first this time. He came happily prancing out and finally realized it was bath time when I put on my plastic apron. And he turned tail and went to the bedroom too. Too bad he can't hide under the bed with Zoe. She's made it perfectly clear that 'under the bed' is her domain. Don't you just hate it when you have to do things you know they just don't enjoy? But the funniest part is when it's Zoe's turn to go first, Jett is close by the whole time and will do his little 'me too' dance when I finish with Zoe. Even though he doesn't really like it, he doesn't want to get left out.:HistericalSmiley: But he LOVES the blow dryer. If I wait too long to start the drying process, he dances all around the legs of the grooming table.

Zoe's favorite part of grooming is when I put her collar back on.:HistericalSmiley::HistericalSmiley: Oh she is all smiles and wiggles and happy dances then!

That's too funny -- but very similar to my household. Lacie actually likes her bath as I do a great massage on her. She doesn't like the clippers when I have to do a cut-down on her. Anyway, I normally do Tilly first because otherwise she goes and hides, but Lacie will just wait patiently for her turn. Yesday was bath day at our house and I started with Tilly. She was done and it was Lacie's turn. NOW -- Tilly is very intereted in what's happening with Lacie and sits patiently and watches or goes up and kisses Lacie as if to say, "it's OK -- I made it through and you will too." That's so funny because neither really hate their bathes, but sometimes they sure act like they do.
At our house that is when everyone lays down and does not bark and is on their best behavior. They all act like they are sleeping because we all know if "I DON'T SEE YOU THEN YOU CAN'T SEE ME EITHER!!!" However Charlie our main breeding sire is convinced that bath time leads to other things and is always ready to get bathed!!! We have one female that you have to bath first or she will get upset with whoever is bathed before her.
Crystal, can I borrow Zoe when it's bath day here? I figure if she is under the bed first, neither of mine will be able to hide lol.

:HistericalSmiley::HistericalSmiley:Alex does not mind at all being bathed. He does not mind the water running over his head. I can tell him "lets go and make a nice boy" and he will follow me.
Your pups sound like Bailey! She HATES being wet and so of course she dislikes baths. She will run and hide too but lucky for me she can't fit under any of the beds. LOL Now Sophie LOVES baths and cries to get in the tub. She bounces around in the water and splashes everywhere. Sometimes she will growl at me when I try to get her out because she wants to play :)
Tink disappears at the sight of the first towel.....but I outsmart him every time. I put everything in place then act like nothing's going to happen...eventually he comes down....and I grab him, LOL LOL :chili:

The other two usually forget to hide.

Ava gets bathed every four days.....That little pip squeak can run, but she can't hide.........she hates her bath anymore...too much grooming for that little baby girl.
How do they know when it's bath time? It's uncanny!

I have to wash Lady's face everyday because of her dry eye. I do it in the kitchen sink. When I am in the kitchen, she is usually right behind me, hoping I'll drop something or share. I can fill a whole sink full of water and she won't budge. I even keep her eye wash and Spa Lavish right next to the dishwashing liquid to try to fool her.

No matter how hard I try to surprise her, she always senses when I am going to wash her face and disappears.
You just reminded me that bath time is tomorrow!!! I understand when you say they run away......I sneak everything in, I won't let them see the towels or anything because they do the disapearing act also~~~At least yours are all nice and clean now!! Hey Crystal, come see me tomorrow.......have I got something for you to do!!!!:HistericalSmiley::HistericalSmiley:
lol...well it's almost 10:00 and I'm finally done. I started much later then I prefer knowing we were doing haircuts, paw pad trim, nail trim, the works! Of course I had a few phone calls in between and gave them both a break for dinner and an outside potty break. They are now sweet smelling and exhausted and ready for bed. Me too!

I'm so glad my Zoe is obedient enough that she does come out from under the bed when I call her. Reluctantly yes, but she does come out. She could easily be in the middle where I couldn't reach her. She's such a good girl.

Jett just doesn't want to miss out on anything...even if he doesn't like it! :HistericalSmiley:

Marj...I'm totally with you. I'm to the point where I leave most of the bath stuff out and then set up the grooming table, get out the dryer, that sort of stuff after the first bath. And it's not like I don't do dishes on a regular basis. I still can't figure out how Zoe knows it's more then doing dishes but in reality bath time. They are so funny.

Ed...Zoe used to do a belly crawl to the bedroom thinking I couldn't see her. Soooo funny. But she learned I can call her back because she's too slow that way.

I smuggle bath items under my shirt and she still knows! Homeland Security needs Lady at the airport!
