My girl Petroushka got spayed on Tuesday, (she's 6 months). They took out 10 (!!!) baby teeth also and gave us some amoxicillin to give her twice a day.

She's eating fine, but she's throwing up a lot. is this normal? I'm thinking maybe it's the amoxicillin that's making her feel sick? Has anyone else experienced this?

Well, it could make her tummy uneasy. It always gives me an upset stomach. (the amoxicillin) -_-

Did the vet say anything about giving her the antibiotic with food? I would definitely call the vet and tell him/her about this. You'll need to be sure not to let your baby get dehydrated from the vomiting. Can she keep water down?

i called the vet and he said some dogs do throw up... she can keep water down for the most part.

i just wanted a second opinion because i am so worried! she has a hard time sleeping, is constantly scratching her belly area (there are red spots where she keeps scratching, her feet can't reach the stitches) and i just can't wait until she gets her stitches out and this is all over.

Maybe there is some itch cream or something.... ?? I would let the vet look at the area she is scratching to make sure there is no skin irritation.

Some people have good luck with a baby onesie... you might try that. Or try a BiteNot Collar.... that saved my sanity with Catcher: BiteNot Collar
