We have a spring visitor, she's set up housekeeping on our front ledge. We think she has eggs but no peeps yet.
One year we had a mommy bird nesting in an antique tractor.

She's a robin. that's one thing I missed while living in Naples florida,no robins. Lots oof other gorgeous birds, yellow finches, even cardinals, but no robins. Don't think they go that far south.

oo, they're definitely here along the Pacific Coast, I just don't recognize them lol! I'm a little oblivious with birds  I just did a wiki search on them, they have colorful eggs :w00t:

awwwwh SO PRECIOUS ^_^ I am also interested in knowing the bird's breed.

Wait until you see her teach her babies how to fly. That is the part that I love the most about having bird nests around (many birds decide to start families in our garden lol). It amazes me - just so incredible to observe how they interact together; see the two parent birds teach the little ones to fly!!! so inspiring. I observe from far away. One day I should get a good zoom video lens and capture that.

Thanks for posting ;)

It's what I love about spring, nesting birds and little peeps. When I brush out my dogs I put the hair out in the back yeard so they can weave into their nests. Sometimes I keep the nests for a tree branch I have in my studio. Plus it's a keep sake of my dogs fur too. I have one tiny wren nest lined with my german shepherd dog's fur.

Putting the hair out in the back yard for the birds to use as nesting material. What a GREAT idea! I love birds and our malt hair would make their nests so soft. I'm doing this from now on. Thanks!

We have a cat but he's so lazy he practically has to be hand fed. not quite but he's lazy. He also thinks he's a dog so forget mousing and birds...give me steak!
I'll kep an eye on them though. al wanted to put a birdbath next to the deck,I sid sure that way Harry can wait until they've had their bath so he can eat them, all nice and clean!
al said he's too lazy for that,he's like Garfield's lost brother...

I do that w/ dryer lint too.The birds use it and so do other animals for burrows.I've seen rabbit nests w/ it inside.wonder if it's designed to throw of preditors, having a dog smell.Kinda like rabbits in dog's clothing, instead of a wolf in sheep's clothing?
I almost said sheep's skin but that's slang for condoms.....you know the way rabbits breed, they could use'm...ok,enough of this jocularity..

oh I never thought of this ... I always thought that there must be something good to do with the malts' long fur when we cut it to pup-cut :p ..
best way to use the hair is to let others use it for something beneficial; what could be better than giving it to a potential family of birds ^_^
