Tessa has been to the vet twice since last Thursday - she's had bouts of runny poop and is not eating. I'm getting very worried and scared as she's not getting better and will be taking her back again today. They've done a number of tests but so far nothing. She went through this about a year ago and never did find out what's causing it. Please keep us in your thoughts.

Thanks and hugs to you all! She's a bit better tonight - ate 1/4 cup of hamburger and rice and 2 rotini noodles (don't worry - plain, no sauce). It is a bout of colitis but not sure of the cause. I

personally think it's food related - she'd been doing great for six months on NB Sweetpotato and venison and when I had Sweetness in at the vet for a UTI a month or so ago, the vet I saw (mine was on vacation) wigged out and said they both needed to be on Royal Canin SO as NB would encourage crystals. So, stupid me, I changed both their food. Sweetness is fine, but after a month on SO, Tessa got runny poo. I told my regular vet that I thought it was the food but she seemed to think it would have come on sooner. Anyway, Tessa's a bit better today and I'm hoping we've turned the corner.

This is what I love about SM - this morning I was so worried and so upset and I knew that tonight I'd have lots of prayers, love and words of encouragement! I do believe it helps our fluffs getter better quicker than they would without you all!

Thanks and hugs!

We are glad Tessa is improving, and we hope you can get everything straightened out so she doesn't get sick again.
What is Royal Canin SO?
(Diamond is eating Royal Canin Low Fat as part of her recovery from surgery. It seems to make her poo very soft -but I think that's the point of this particular type of food - to make her recovery easier.)
SO is supposed to discourage the formation of urinary stones and crystals. Sweetness had frequent UTIs until she started on it and is doing very well - she needed it apparently. Tessa on the other hand . . .

I didn't want to post last night and "jinx" it but she's doing much better. She's started eating or should I say gobbling her food very well again yesterday morning and the poo is no longer runny. Still soft but formed (I know - TMI). Today I mixed back in a few pieces of her NB venison along with the hamburger and rice and she ate that like she was starving. Cross your fingers and pray we've turned the corner!

Lynne - looking forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks! I'll PM you my cell phone before the picnic!
