The pain of pottying outdoors

1004 Views 12 Replies 10 Participants Last post by  Sylphide and Shrek's Mom
I tried taking them outside this morning, but for the life of me, I could NOT get my glass door to slide open to go to the back yard! I then went to the front door to get out and walked to the side of the house with Cloud in my hands and the fence door was stuck too! I put Cloud and Noriko back in their crates so I can figure out how to get to the other side. I was determined like a mofo! So I boiled water and brought it outside to melt the ice...twice. I tried pushing and I got it to open one inch. Then I started kicking it! I Kick, kick, kick and then KABBAM! Ahhhh SH*)$%T! I broke it! I was so freaked out, I ran. WTH! I'm trying to break into my own house. Finally, my bf had to climb out the window to the back yard and poored hot water on the glass door to open it.

AND THEN while my bf was in the showers, I tried taking them outside again. THE DOOR WOULDN'T OPEN AGAIN! I thought, "I don't need no man to help me. I can do it my stinkin self!" I climbed up on the kitchen counter and opened the window. At this point I think I'm stupid. I looked out the window and I'm like WTH! It's too far! I got a stool and FREAKIN A, it slipped out of my hands out the window! HAHA, I was laughing...laughing at how dumb I look if someone were watching me! I went for it anyway. I checked to make sure noone's watching and climbed out the window so my babies can piss and poo in their backyard. That is true love! And let me say, I ain't limber. I can only imagine how my a$$ looked climbing out the window, looking like I'm trying to do the splits against the wall. But I did it! And I opened the door. And they went outside. And didnt pee or poo. WTH.

interesting...I couldn't get my back door open either! We had snow drifted up to 2 and half ft in some places. I was thinking of letting him go on the front porch....but hubby shoveled quickly and we got him out for the first pee, but he poo'd inside but hey, I can't blame the poor guy. It's 10 degrees out (thankfully he has a fleece sweater)...when he does get out, he is so excited to see the snow, he hops over the mounds(or tries to)

That is true love!!

Hey, that would make a good "priceless" commercial (was it Mastercard or Visa?)

AND THEN, I asked for my bf's help when the door was, of course, stuck again. And what he did was he did was instead of going outside thru the window and pooring water on it, he just poored a lil bit of hot water from the inside into the crack of the sliding door and FOILA...It opened.

MomtwoMaltmuffins--Are you thinking about my butt right now? HAHAH, PERVERT! JK! I have a cute butt so I understand you cant help it! LOL

msmagnolia--I am a Tennessean. It rained first and then snowed and iced over.

Snoopychan--True love is STUPID. True love is a PAIN LOL.

I am laughing at you so hard that I am about to wet myself!!!!!
Oh...the love of WEE PADS!!!! Ha ha!!! It SLEETED in buckets ALL DAY on Wednesday at my house (northwest Tennessee)...I kept hugging Brinkley and telling him how glad he should be that I didn't make him learn to potty outside...
Where you got the ice, then snow, then ice...we got ice (freezing rain), then about 3 inches of sleet, then an inch or so of snow on top of that! Miserable! My kids were so disgusted that it was not good for playing in! It was all icey and stuff!

Anyway, your story was quite entertaining!!!! Wish someone had a camera to capture that for us

Now I've got the "Mission Impossible" theme in my head!! Were you wearing a black spandex outfit?

Was Tom Cruise hiding somewhere in the bushes, awaiting a special signal from you that the dogs poo'd in the yard?

OR-maybe it was Allen Funt??

Have you considered cross-training on wee-wee pads plus outdoors? Sylphide is cross-trained because it just gets too cold for her to go out some days here in upstate New York...even though she loves the cold!

In the begining, they were pad trained. And then I got tired of the smell and them missing and I trained them to go outside. So they know how to go on the pads. It was just that I was so stinkin determined. I wasn't really rational LOL.

AIRMID--hahah Now, whenever I think of that moment, I have that MI song in my head too! lol. Accept I was no way near as cool as Tom Cruise!
And his butt might have been more...NICE to look at than mine! LOL. I dont know. Could be a toss up!

Hi Elegant,

Saratoga Springs is gorgeous! It's such a beautiful, historical city with exquisite architecture. The great thing about it is that it has a small population, is virtually crime free, and has all the amenities of a much bigger city. The New York City Ballet has their summer season here (we're ballet fans), and of course, there is the Saratoga racing in style
Best of all, Saratogians are very friendly.

We moved here two years ago when I accepted a job offer. I have a less than five minute drive to work. My husband and son just love it here...we're less than 1/2 hour from Albany, the capitol of New York, and only three hours from NYC, Montreal, and Boston. We really enjoy living here. Thanks for asking!
