ok, i dont know what else to call them, wandering if any other malts have this "affliction" from time to time Sampson will get these "tickle spots" if I scratch a certain spot his hind leg will "scratch" uncontrolably, even though it isnt actually scratching anything, most of the time its jsut one spot but for the last few days he has 3 or 4, its like he becomes paralyzed and cant move except his hind leg when I scratch that "spot"

does this happen to anyone else?

Not to me personally, but Noodle gets that way sometimes.  Cookie just plain melts whenever I touch any part of her body.  The vet loves her because she's so easy to deal with.  She even melts while getting a shot and licks him on the nose afterwards.

Gosh, I'm glad you said that..... it reminded me that Rosebud used to do that.... she would be sitting down and I would sit next to her on the floor and just start to pet her and she would literally fall over!

that reminds me, if I rub deep inside sampsons ears he gets the "pass out" look, which is weird because I have always had what I call "eargasms" when I clean my ears with a q-tip, ok that was probably too much information for everyone
my wife laughs at me about it

Maggie could care less if I rub inside her ears
