I have been just totally unable to brush Pico's back teeth. The finger brush is just too big to get into the back of his mouth and the regular tiny brush won't fit either.

My vet has 3 malts and he showed me the critical area, which is the pre-molars on the upper jaw where the salivary glands are. They are tiny short little teeth just before the molars. This is where the tartar builds up first and worse.

So! He said just put the CET paste on my finger and rub it into the gumline and the enzymes will do the job of removing the food residue that makes tartar. What a relief! Pico actually lays down quietly for this procedure and seems to enjoy the gum massage and I feel sooooo much better knowing I am doing SOMETHING about his dental health.

Yep...the finger is fine. I really like the little kids first toothbrush better than any of the pet toothbrushes. My dogs tolerated it really well as the bristles were softer and the head very small.

That's what I use. The little kid toothbrush. But toothbrushing is something he does not like. That's when a long beard comes in handy. I can hold on to it to fight him.

yeah, it wasnt till recently that i learned "enzymatic toothpaste" meant that the toothpaste does all the work...and that you dont need to "brush" their teeth.

its near the toothpastes. but its not really a "mouthwash" cuz they can drink it. lol. i have a gel, but i've seen sprays and stuff. all you do is squirt it on their teeth and they'll eat it.

That sounds pretty easy! I'll have to try it! Never knew it existed

What is CET and where do you get it? Sounds wonderful to me.

Zoey won't allow a toothbrush (even a tiny one) or a finger cot but she will let me put my finger in her mouth. I think she wants to bite it!!

C.E.T. is the brand of Enzymatic Dentifrice for animals. I think they make a spray, too. I think you can get it at PetsMart.

I can't seem to get a toothbrush of any kind on Pico's molars so the finger brushing and spray are the best I can do.
